    "Nag, nag, nag!"

    September 15, 2014  |   By DraculX

    Version: DFX Audio Enhancer 11.200

    Pros

    Great sound.

    Cons

    Nags you to death!

    Summary

Once installed and used, this app will nag you every 5 to ten minutes about upgrading to the full PAID version. It will even TURN OFF the sound enhancement during some of these nags. In addition, what I mean by "Nags" are actually little pop-up windows(in addition to turning off the sound enhancement), which remind you that you are not using the full version and supplies two buttons that BOTH link to the DFX website. One goes direct to the purchase page, the other to the home page - to get rid of the pop-up(and turn the enhancement back on), you HAVE to close the pop-up window. Blindly quick-clicking the buttons just doesn't do it, because then you have the app opening your browser(or a new tab in one that is already open). I would NOT suggest using the free version during ANY sort of important or vital work, because of all the interruptions, and program window-switching that happens. In fact, I recommend NOT using this P.O.S. free-ware at ALL! The hassles and trouble are just not worth it.
You can not turn this on and sit down to listen to any audio file or track, because it WILL eventually turn itself OFF! Which forces you to stop whatever you are doing, focus on the idiot pop-up purchase reminder, and then attempt to return to whatever your previous task was - whether it was relaxing and enjoying music, or listening to something while working on your computer.

Unless you intend to purchase this app, AVOID it like a Trojan Virus - it is just a complete and TOTAL waste of your time!

    "Too many nags"

    July 7, 2014  |   By jangedoo

    Version: DFX Audio Enhancer 11.200

    Pros

    None found

    Cons

Frequently (every 5 minutes or so) shows message to buy the full version. Uninstalled within a few hours.

    Summary

All it does is increases your volume a bit. But you can achieve this "volume boost" by enabling "Loudness Equalization" of your audio. Go to "Sound" from Control Panel, choose "Speakers", click "Properties", then in the "Enhancements" tab check "Loudness Equalization" and you will have the same sound effect (as far I can tell) as this stupid, constantly nagging software.

"AMAZING PRODUCT,EVEN AT PARTLY FUNCTIONAL FREE VERSION!"

    April 12, 2014  |   By sbose64

    Version: DFX Audio Enhancer 11.113

    Pros

satisfactory enhancement of all the key components of audio playback without distorting it.gives incredible boost to your multimedia speakers that you never imagined existed.and the free lite version gives just half of the full enhancement that seems enough.you can even move the modifying sliders a bit more and save it on your own settings, grea indeed.

    Cons

the 15 minutes interval auto deactivation and ask for a buy is too annoying.cant they reduce it to one hour?

    Summary

this is a superior audio processing software available from fxsound and compares better than its competitor sandbox from dolby labs.its worth to pay for the fully featured version that enhances the computer audio so awesomely thou many, like me,feel satisfied with the slimmed down free product.qualifies as one of those essential wares for any pc.go for it.

"Not able to adequately evaluate from free trial"

    March 27, 2014  |   By Letoria69

    Version: DFX Audio Enhancer 11.112

    Pros

    Hard to tell
    Seems user friendly

    Cons

    Free download extremely limited
Impossible to evaluate whether it's worth buying

    Summary

I downloaded the free trial since it looked like something I could use and enjoy. Unfortunately, the free trial offered almost no features for evaluation that might make it worth buying. How can I know if a product is for me if I can't try it out? It's like taking a car for a test drive, and not being able to turn on the sound system, and being able to do the test only on smooth, level road in dry conditions.

In addition, within 20 minutes of trying the program, the pop-ups started reminding me it was a limited free trial. These reappeared every 10 minutes thereafter.

There was no way I was going to shell out the money to buy the program based on such an extremely limited trial run. I will say, when I wrote the company about my concerns, they responded promptly with a understandable explanation for the extremely limited trial. I offered my own suggestions on how to work around their concerns while offering potential consumers a better evaluation experience. They did not respond to that.

In the end, I think they're costing themselves a huge potential market by not allowing a good evaluation. I know I won't buy it based on what I was able to try. If you're willing to shell out your hard-earned $$ without knowing what you're getting, knock yourself out. Remember, Caveat emptor.

    "Avoid this one"

    March 10, 2014  |   By Mariejack22

    Version: DFX Audio Enhancer 11.112

    Pros

    not a single one

    Cons

While it's true you get bugged to buy the full version, biting the bullet and going with the upgraded full version is throwing your money away.

After disabling my firewall and antivirus several times it still wouldn't install. Even got ahold of their support (only took 2 tries) who gave me a link to the same page I'd been trying and of course it still didn't work.

Their old version used to work years ago when they were with Music Match, but since then it's been worthless.

Save yourself the trouble and wasted time and effort trying to get this to work. It didn't do a thing for me.

    Summary

Nothing positive about it. Avoid and go with something else or better speakers.

"very buggy software with awful suppoort"

    March 9, 2014  |   By moore793

    Version: DFX Audio Enhancer 11.112

    Pros

When it works, it does make my music sound better

    Cons

I paid for the full version of this, and regret it.
    1. Does not support multiple users on 1 PC, so when my wife logs onto her windows account, she has zero sound
    2. Crashes spectacularly (over 100 dialog boxes) when I connect my bluetooth headset.
I have reported both issues to the developer, with no response. The first issue was reported over a year ago!!

    Summary

    Dont both, far to buggy

    "Absolutely Stupid"

    February 28, 2014  |   By Spazydragon

    Version: DFX Audio Enhancer 11.112

    Pros

Does let you make the sound a little nicer

    Cons

"Reminds" you to buy the product constantly
Almost every feature is locked in the free version
That is including the minimize feature
Not worth 40 dollars by any means

    Summary

I got the free version because, hey, it was free. I immediately regretted it because of just how terrible the program was.

Almost every feature that I wanted was locked. It kept bugging me about buying the full version. And even the MINIMIZE was locked unless you had full.

From the few features available, it is only really worth it to someone who has 40 dollars to (literally) burn.

The features (Anything locked is in the free version only, of course):
    Fidelity Slider
Ambiance Slider (Which seems to do absolutely nothing)
    3D Surround Slider (Locked)
    Dynamic Boost Slider
    Hyperbass Slider
    Speaker Setting
    Headphone Setting (Locked)
    Music Type I Preset
    Music Type II Preset
    Speech Preset
Minimize (Which, for whatever reason, was locked)

Its also important to note that in the free version all sliders that were unlocked were limited to about 2/3rds of its full setting.

So, it is useless free and by no means worth 40 dollars. It does hardly anything more than the free version. If you do get it you are better off pirating it. But it sucks so bad that pirating it is by no means worth it.

Get out of here. You are so clearly a developer of this product.

Anyone reading this review, ignore it completely.

    Updated on Feb 28, 2014

That last update was in response to a review clearly submitted by the developer. There is a 5 star review that says "Oh, there are no cons that I can think of." If you find it, ignore it.

    "Terrible. Causes computer audio failure."

    December 18, 2013  |   By markrod420

    Version: DFX Audio Enhancer 11.112

    Pros

SLIGHT increase in volume. Nothing else.

    Cons

Causes the audio on your computer to stop working after first restart. Uninstalling did not fix. Rebooting after uninstall did not fix. Reinstalling then uninstalling before reboot seemed to fix it. Point is its a terrible TERRIBLE product.

    Summary

A piece of software so bad that your computer wont even work right after its installed. Usually i thought that type of functionality was reserved for viruses but apparently not. Terrible product by lazy greedy programmers. And this is coming from someone who makes a living as a computer programmer.

SIDE NOTE* Anyone else notice that the 5 star review for this product sounds EXACTLY like something the producers of the product might say?.... yeah me too.
