Pros: Video editing is good, Capturing is good, Producing the video is ok.
Cons: Burning on a dvd is hopeless. After 99% it give a error and stopped.
Cyberlink said: install again, with no firewall, no virusscanner, no anti-spyware ect.,

"Pretty good...only because every competitor is so bad."
Pros: I can split and join camcorder videos with ease. The final product is good quality. Combined with PowerProducer I can capture and edit video (yes, both products are supposed to do this but Producer captures and Director edits - so you need both).
Cons: I've found it to be somewhat buggy - see below. PowerDirector cannot find most capture devices. The wizards only work occasionally and are hard to fix. Either a software limitation or the process is too hard to figure out - either way its a con.
Summary: PowerDirector does a good job of simple editing. I recently edited vacation videos and found it very easy to combine 3 videos and remove unwanted scenes. The "cut" tool seemed to work backwards though. I thought I was cutting out a scene from the ... read more
