"I liked 9 and 10, but 11 is a crash waiting to happen"
Version: CyberLink PowerDirector 11
Pros
Used to be a great easy to use product.
Cons
Now? I have a job to get done and the program crashes. Time to get my money back. So much for preparing my presentation in time. Should have stuck with 10.....thought 11 would be better.
Summary
Do not purchase 11. Wait for them to fix the program.

"Good Grief!"
Version: CyberLink PowerDirector 11
Pros
Easier to use than most
Very good user support and forums. This is VERY important
Quick to fix bugs most of the timeCons
Unresponsive to customers complaints unless a sale is attached to it. They ONLY respond to money
Summary
None of the low end programs are easy to use for everyone
This product is fine for 99 bucks or so
Ive Been doing this a long time. If you think this this is bad download and try to use Magix Ultimate Pro Product
Graphics and Video programs are tough and there really there are no good standards yet. This aint like light bulbs its all subjective
I dont care what product you get, plan on a STEEP leaning curve and plan on spending some time.
If you you think you will just throw something together thats customized forget it
This product is fine -

"Don't believe the negative reviews! Excellent program!"
Version: CyberLink PowerDirector 11

Needs more transitions
Summary
I was a little apprehensive after reading the reviews as I have used others such as AVS Video Editor 6.2 which I thought was amazing until I started playing with PD10. Also note that I have the FULL version which can be upgraded after the trial but I would recommend buying the full version outright. Well worth it!
Thank goodness I didn't place too much stock in the negative reviews. I do top grade editing on a regular now and needed something that WASN'T going to crash once you started getting deep into the nitty gritty with tons of open files. This was the perfect program for that. I've been able to produce some pretty decent music videos and mini movies with otrher programs but as soon as i started usind PD10 it was like going from a pager to a cell phone. I can only imagine how much better the videos and movies would have been if I would have started with this program.
I give it two thumbs up. As far as the negative reviews, I can only assume this is coming from people who either have limited knowledge on editing or their computers don't have the specs to handle the program. I haven't turned off my computer fully in a little over a week and I've been running the program on and off in sleep mode for that long and still haven't had a crash issue yet. Get the program if you want the best quality in editing software. -
"Save your money & time!!!"

Cons

"Glad I got to try it before having to pay! Saved money!"
Version: CyberLink PowerDirector 11
Pros
Video editor was decent and easy to use.
Cons
This version does not have the frame advance jog wheel that earlier versions had. First time I used capture, worked like a champ! Second time, it would not even sync up to the same camera. Tried to produce a 4 hour video. Time remaining said 60 - 90 HOURS??????? Granted my system is using a 2.5 ghz cpu which is .5 ghz below their recommended minimum of 3 ghz.

"You can't count on this program"
Version: CyberLink PowerDirector 11
Pros
Not hard to install
Cons
In "capture mode" the program will not continue to recognize the camera from time to time, requiring repeated restarts of the program. Sound and picture will at times become un-synchronized, requiring re-capture. Files are more difficult to find, and move than necessary.
Summary
I have used several versions of Pinnacle Studio, & Liquid, Final Cut Pro using a less powerful and slower computer, This was the most frustrating experience I've ever encountered attempting to edit.

"Do NOT By This One"
Version: CyberLink PowerDirector 11
Pros
It starts... sometimes.
Cons
The program will crash unexpectedly. When it is running, the video gets pixelated and freezes very, very often. This is a permanent problem once it happens. The rendering and final version will be a frozen and pixelated video with clean audio. Even after installing the updates and only running PowerDirector and nothing else, the program continuously screws up my video. This is completely unacceptable and just disappointing... waste of money, time, and effort... and good video editing.
Summary
- Freezes almost every video I try to work with
- Crashes unexpectedly and frequently
- Very slow at importing things
Not worth a penny. Very disappointed.
