CyberLink BD & 3D Advisor User Reviews

"cyberjunk don't buy"
Version: CyberLink BD & 3D Advisor 2.0
Pros
good advertised feature
Cons
tech support is a joke
Summary
Unless you pay $30 for a couple months of tech support you can talk to nobody. I just wanted all the features of my legal and paid for cyberlink program to work and there is a activation issue. There is no number to call, not even for sales, and it is very apparent through thier email support system responses they could care less. That is if you get a response. If they made a good product don't you think they wouldn't be afraid to help thier customers?

"Nothing that BD player software couldn't tell you..."
Version: CyberLink BD & 3D Advisor 2.0
Pros
Easy to use. Nice interface with some detail about why BD will/won't work on your PC. It's free...
Cons
Doesn't tell you anything that just using some BD player software wouldn't tell you.
Summary
I really don't see the reason for this software unless it is to help you with figuring out a problem/trying to justify a hardware upgrade.

"Sloppy code"
Version: CyberLink BD & 3D Advisor 2.0
Pros
It was a free download
Cons
It could not spot my ATI 4870 because it could not get passed the built in video in the chipset. So the software under review said my machine w/ an AMD 945 CPU and a ATI 4870 (w/ 1 GB dram on video card) failed their tests.
Summary
Tried to submit an error report to Cyberlink, and got a reply asking for 1) installation key, 2) scanned copy of software. I included exact hardware, software (including OS) and source of the program, in my orginal submission. So, 1) there are not any install keys for the software, 2) when I queried support (joke) about what scanned meant, they said that they wanted me to put the software on a scanner (flatbed type scanner) and send them a picture. Not my first problem with Cyberlink, beware of any company that WILL NOT post it's software licence on line, so that you have to buy before you can read license.
Also you have to register before you can ask any questions, pre or post sales. Like I stated before, not my first problem with Cyberlink. I could rant on about carbon copy responses (word for word) to very different support queries, but it is beating a dead horse.
