Pros: Automacally reconnects/uploads if shut down. Let it run till it's done. This download is also available on download.com for $39.99 do a cute ftp search. Same software. Whoever gives this a low rating doesn't have a clue. All you need is your IP address, user name and password.. If you're not sure, calll your service proveider and get help. Although I just downloaded, I owned this fotware about 6 years and 3 computers back. Can't beat it, wouldn't eaven waist my time on the others.

Version: Cute FTP Professional 8.3.2
"The best FTP program I have ever used"
Pros: Cute FTP pro in my opinion has been the best FTP client around for quite some time now. It seems to have all the features that matter the most. Its very easy to use and obvious! It transfers files at quite a quick rate (that is alot of small files) which I assumed was normal until trying other FTP clients.
I can list all the features, but lets face it, most other FTP clients have these features, their all pretty standard, its really which client executes these feauters the best and which interface is the most logical to use. In my opinion Cute FTP pro wins in this department.
A great feature or should I say a feature that works well in this client is the ability to open and edit files within the program itself. This is great for developers / web admins that need to make small updates to files or see the content of dynamic files.
Cons: People may look at the price and think why should I pay that much for something I can get free. Well from my extensive testing of FTP programs I can honestly say what you pay is what you get! Some of the free ones work and work decently at that, but they are not very easy to use and leave you less than satisfied if you ftp alot.
The only other con with this product is that version 8 seems to play up a bit on my computer. For instance, editing files sometimes works, sometimes appears to have worked but it didn't. Sometimes you upload a file and it doesnt upload the file correctly. This could just be an issue with my computer being Windows Vista. It's also quite rare, so don't be put off from trying out this great client!

Version: Cute FTP Professional 8.3.2
Pros: fast
Cons: I had a problem with SFTP to an apple OS 10.4 server. They told me to download the patch to fix this specific bug, which they acknowledged, but it didn't fix the problem. I'm asking for a refund.
The bug is that sometimes it corrupts text files in ascii mode, and binary mode doesn't seem to upload correct versions, either. This is not only a major inconvenience, it has caused me untold hours of frustration and lost work.

"Pretty good, but has some issues."
Pros: Clean interface, fairly intuitive button layout. Easy to use.
Cons: Occasionally swaps the filenames on files when uploading, I guess it's good to double check all 150 files you upload anyway? It seems the only way to avoid this is to set it to only transfer 1 file at a time. This is fine if you are only moving 4 or 5 files.
Uses a super strict liscense. One user, one computer period. Choose wisely the computer you want it on and hope it doesn't crash. If you want the versatility of having it on a desktop pc and your wireless notebook for use by the same person in the same 1500 Sq ft, it's going to cost you the full retail price times 2. I would be fine with it if I had 4 hands and could use both copies at once.
