A good economic strategy game should really come with a handy set of operating instructions. While Cultures 2 is aesthetically dazzling, it is incredibly difficult to play. The demo does not include instructions, aside from a few help pages that still don't outline keystroke or click patterns to command your units. For example, during testing, we tried to build a structure in our virtual world. We spent a half hour trying this function and that, only to realize we had to right-click on the building task--a control we felt not exactly intuitive. Cultures 2 won't let you reassign controls, either. General interface issues, such as unit information bars and menus, appear in different places at different times, making it challenging to figure out what unit is currently selected, and what powers belong to which unit. On the plus side, it's easy to get swept away by the sheer beauty of Cultures 2, as the world is drawn in impressive, full 3D, with vivid colors and realistic detail. Voices are differentiated, giving personality to each character, and background noises complete an engaging environment. While there's no overall soundtrack, we didn't miss one. This demo version lets you choose your challenge: economic or warring. Overall, despite its handful of design flaws, Culture 2 offers plenty of eye candy and challenging action for fans of strategy games.Publisher's description

Version: Cultures 2 demo
Summary: The graphics are a little toonish, but that's not always a bad thing. Though you do not directly control what your villagers do, you are in charge of their well being. The game runs smooth supporting nearly no end of villagers. (I'm talking 200+ ... read more >>

Version: Cultures 2 demo
Summary: This game is a good variation on most other games because it is more realistic than other games. It is more based on micromanagement that combat but that doesn't matter
