Summary
All I neede was one file sbpci.sys for the CT 4750 PCI 128 card which mysteriously stopped working all of a sudden. I have so far downloaded over 10 mb of softwaree and i seem to have the entire caboodle to install every Creative sound card except the one I have. How complicated can simple things be" I have almost given up and will by someother sound card instead.

This card just will not install ever - why creative can't just give a driver like everybody else instead of this totalitarian installation program rubbish - it's worse than SONY - it's worse than anything I've ever ever had to use - I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SOUNDBLASTER PRODUCT AGAIN. Just sour grapes? oh no no no - I've had troubles with this card ever since I bought it - the only way to install it is [and i mean this] is to utterly wipe your harddrive and reinstall windows again where magically the OS just finds the card and gives it the right drivers and everything. .. . can you do this again by some easy simple reinstall thing? NO! does it have the drivers on windows online update? NO! do creative have anywhere to give you instructions on the problems you have? NO! Does the soundcard just mess your machine up if you plug unpowered speakers into the back, or a line in from your walkman? OH YES!
Don't buy this card - do NOT try and install these drivers! DO NOT EVER BUY SOUNDBLASTER CARDS!!!

Summary
The only good thing I can say is that once it's properly installed, the card is stable and has good quality considering the cost.
It seems almost impossible to get the card to work in MBs with the Intel BX440 chipset, while it works
beautifully in an Epox P2-100 with
a VIA chipset (using 4-in-1 patch).
While difficult to install in Windows98, it will go on. Upgrading to Windows98SE is a disaster with this card.
Once the drivers are installed, it
is impossible to switch cards without doing a full re-install of
Windows.
Creative lost me as a customer because of the false advertising of
their driver updates. -
