CreateInstall Free Edition is a freeware flexible builder of professional installations. Building installation projects are surprisingly easy with its simple user interface. The resulting installation files can be compressed into end user friendly installations. Its features include licensing, uninstalls, registry entries or extracts, ini files, multi-directory deployment, shortcut and menu creation.
What's new in this version:
Version 5.19.1 has added new features for the command global environment.
The main strength of this program is that it allows you to set all the correct uninstall parameters that Windows 7 shows in the [Control Panel --> Uninstall a program] list such as version, application Name, company name etc. This part is good.
The rest of the program is a true train wreck and not user-friendly at all. I can't even find where you add the files that the installer is to install on the end-users computer. And the icons and user interface is horrible.
This program needs a whole lot of work in the areas of functionality, presentation, and user-friendliness. Nuff said!
With the latest version CreateInstall Free provide us multi-language support which help you to easily create your own installers. Even if the program is written in a new language, called Gentee, you won't recognise any difference.
You can create registry keys and use/write INI files for your programs.
The help is extensive and useful, i highly recommend it before using setup macros. (However, i could get better infos from the not free edition.)
The default compression method is store, which is the worst (~simply adding all files to one, no compression).
Maybe my own problem, but drop-down menu items (like logo, etc.) aren't visible until i click them.
