Corte 7: Unlimited cut optimization program for any kind of shape. Corte gives a highly optimized computer solution to the problem of minimizing waste material when cutting rectangular sheets and longitudinal bars. Now it supports optimizing cut of parts of any shape. The Corte's calculation engine, which is designed to find non-approximate but true-optimal solutions, uses classical optimization techniques, like linear programming and dynamic programming, together with a powerful completing heuristic and a sophisticated cutting variants generation algorithm. Most likely, Corte will find an optimum solution for the given task, and when it won't, a nearly-optimum solution is guaranteed. The program can be used when cutting different kind of materials: metal, glass, plastic, wood, leather, fabric in different practical environments like woodworks, glassworks, furniture factories, factory parts for cars, planes, boats, and much more.
Quick and accurate optimizer. User interface is helpful. Free demo product was all I needed for 1 time use. No credit card for demo.
Had to figure out how to use it on my own. Units were very confusing, couldnt use just inches and decimal inches- which were converted to feet, inches, and decimal inches.
This optimizer was exactly what I was looking for once I figured out how to use it and changed the measurement units to what I needed.
You'll want to set measurement units first so when you enter the dimensions the program knows what you want. The program would automatically convert my inches input to feet and inches. Ex- my input of 18.5" would be converted to 1' 6.5" automatically. I'll have to go back and reconvert the measurements back to purely inches, that's how I measure.
Tip: input measurements for the smaller cut pieces under "Parts" then enter the original raw board dimensions under "material". Click the blue "circle with arrow" and it'll do all the work!
