Version: Corel VideoStudio Pro X2
"Crashes Constantly"
Pros: Works fine for VERY simple projects, ChromaKey capable.
Cons: What good is a program that crashes constantly? It's worse than not having one, IMHO.
Summary: I bought this program specifically to edit an HD video file, about 630 MB in size. After cuting the clip into about 10 sections, and adding a few titles and transitions, it now crashes constantly. I simply open the program, move the timeline slider about 10-20 times, and Vista informs me it VideoStudio has crashed. It appears to me that VideoStudio is not managing memory properly. I have a new and VERY stable system:
AMD Phenom 9600 Quad-Core 2.3 GHz
ASUS M4N78 Pro Motherboard
8 GB RAM
Vista Ultimate 64
Corel refused to offer no e-mail support, because I have an academic version, which they say did not include the cost of support. So, I wasted my money and a lot of my time. Moreover, Corel is very short-sighted, as I am in a position to purchase MANY retail copies of a video-authoring software package. It definitely won't be Corel.

I have similar problems with Video Studio x2 Pro crashing. How are you overcoming the problem? Did you find out what the underlining problem was as I would like to know. Starting up an private video production business and this problem is wasting a lot of my time during editing...please help if you can.
