"Good, stable, poor Help"
Version: Corel PhotoImpact X3
Pros
Price, stability
Cons
Terrible Help file with very poor index; "stitch", "merge", "panorama" all produce nothing in the Help Index. Tool icons are not shown in Help to assist in finding the tool. All makes learning very slow. COOL_360 produces very poor panoramas.
Summary
See above. Keenly priced. Product is very stable compared with Photoshop Elements. COOL-360 is very poor. Help file is poor and makes learning very slow.

"Does it all"
Version: Corel PhotoImpact X3
Pros
- no problem installing
- great filters
- easy managing:

- layers and layer saving
- fill patterns
- webdesignCons
not in my native language, but why bother, it just works great.
Summary
No problem installing (fresh install), works great for me.
Read the negative reviews, all about not getting the product installed. If you just leave them out, you see a very good product. Installation isn't the problem for me (installed it on 2 pc's). Don't know why it was for others.
Upgraded for only $35!.
The product does everything I want: from auto-correction till in depth cloning of parts of the picture, retouch, cropping, layers, vector images, painting, many filters.
I bought photoshop elements (as part of videoediting suite), but it wasn't doing as much editing as I was used to, so switched back to Photoimpact. Let you control everything you want. To retouch I very much like the clone tool, but give it a try: it has so many things in it, I can't see why anybody should be disappointed. -
"Excellent for Professional Photographers"
Version: Corel PhotoImpact X3
Pros
It packs everything into one program
Cons
Labels on the tool bar options would be nice
Summary
As a professional photographer, I got fed up a long time again with Photoshop's ridiculous price and out dated interface. I started using PhotoImpact with version 11, and I never looked back. The same version of PhotoImpact is also available from Nova and is called PhotoImpact 13. The options in this program are mind boggling, and at first I thought many of them were just gimmicks. I soon learned that these so-called gimmicks were making my photos come out better than they ever did in PhotoShop. What you have to do is take time to learn this program. It has awesome abilities, and many of them require the user to practice using these tools. While PhotoImpact has many automated features for quick photo touch-ups, it's real strength lies in the wide assortment of brushes, effects, and correction tools. Take time to learn how to use them! Just as photography is an art form, so is photo editing. With PhotoImpact, you can do quick touch-up jobs, or you can spend as much time as you like creating a masterpiece. If you think Photoshop must be better because it cost a ridiculous amount of money, then go ahead and download the trial versions of both programs and find out for yourself what many of us already know.

"Great but not supported by Corel"
Version: Corel PhotoImpact X3
Pros
I have used this exellent software for years as a semi-pro because it is intuitive and quick with virtually every tool that Photoshop has, but with a usable, right-clickable interface. MUCH simpler than Photoshop.
Cons
Corel has stopped updating to supported cameras, ie. newer Nikons are not supported (D300, D3, etc) The answer they gave me was "we're not allowed to say" if we will support new hardware. Arrogant. Also does not seem to be fully functional with Vista 64 bit.

"Fail to install"
Version: Corel PhotoImpact X3
Cons
Fail to install at setup it says as followed:
Error 1335, The cabinet file "Data1.cab" reguired for this installation is corupt and cannot be used. This could indicated a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a Problem with this package.
Then I redownload and install again still the same. Tell me why or you can Mail me the CD?
