"Very Basic"
Version: Cooking Aficionado 3.1
Pros
No advertisements, loads and operates quickly, images can be added.
Cons
Recipes have to be manually entered or imported via .XML files.
Summary
This is a very basic program, however, the author did create some conveinent features like the ability to change theme colors, default language, and text size. (Don't get too exicted over the language selection - it's either English or Spanish.) The program comes with one sample recipe so you can see how the program works. The use can also create different categories, but it appears to be impossible to import recipes to any other category that the original sample category that is included. Can you move recipes between categories? You bet, but you have to edit each one individually.
If you have the time to create your own recipe database, this program might work for you. But I'm still puzzled by how the title 'Cooking Afiocionado' is related to this program. Maybe it should simply be called 'Personal Recipe Database Application.' -

"perfectly simple and useful!"
Version: Cooking Aficionado 3.1
Pros
This software is just what I was looking for. A simple, clean way to organize all my recipes without having to individually type each ingredient into seperate fields. I can just copy and paste from my saved MS Word files as well as from recipes online.
I like that I can create different catagories to organize them all too.
Perfect! No ads or useless bells and whistles. I like this simple little tool.

"Great program"
Version: Cooking Aficionado 3.1
Pros
Great program to organise recipes and their photos
Cons
Would like to be able to drag and drop images into the recipe picture window. Would also like to be able to export as HTML, including emailing in HTML format (that is, *including* the image).

"Exactly what I was looking for..."
Version: Cooking Aficionado 3.1
Pros
I love this program! Some of the things the last reviewer wrote were not true at all! You can create as many catagories as you want with this program. It is completely free and the thing I love the most is that you can just copy and paste recipes from other websites. I haven't tried importing recipes, but copying and pasting isn't hard to do. Also I haven't tried importing pictures, but I don't really need pictures with my recipes. I haven't experienced any problems with the program loading, and there was no spyware attached.

"Pretty to look at, but barely useful."
Version: Cooking Aficionado 3.1
Pros
1. Has a simple design that's easy on the eyes, and customizable with different color schemes.
2. Offers to display in either English or Spanish.
3. Ability to import images. Maybe.
4. Ability to export recipes.
Cons
1. Crashed 2 out of 4 times on my XP desktop.
2. Allows you to register for free, but has a statement about "buying" the program in its help file...yet the website doesn't offer the option to buy, leaving one to think that the program is free and fully functional as long as it's registered. But then again, some features (such as the aforementioned ability to import images) are only available in "CA Professional" and my registered copy only calls itself "CA". Confused? So am I.
3. Only 1 recipe category is available, entitled "CA Recipe". You can edit the name, but you can't add any more categories than that inital one. Maybe in "CA Professional"...whatever that is.
4. No way to import recipes from different formats, which means my 3000+ collection of Meal-Master recipes will have to be entered by hand. I think I'll pass.
