    Version: ConvertMe 2.1c

"Worked well when registered and directions followed."

by kenwylie on May 28, 2007

Pros: This software did what it said it would do. It did require me to register (it asked for contact information but not for money) before it worked; otherwise it acted liked it worked, but nothing got copied. It copied thousands of contacts and calendar items quickly. Now I have a backup in Outlook or easy access to contacts while using Outlook. Also, you do need to follow the directions on their website to install the CDO from your Office CD. It was not difficult...I think anyone could do it.

Cons: The software did copy mail addresses, but it didn't specify their category, so they don't show up in Outlook's Contacts without changing the category to "other". After trying Outlook, I think I will stick with Palm Desktop, which I find much easier to read and navigate.

    "Would not work"

by Reformguy on September 1, 2006

Pros: If you can make it work it sounds great!

Cons: I tried to make this work. I installed the CDO for Outlook. It wouldn't work. I downloaded the 'Rexync' version. It wouldn't work. I must be doing something wrong.

    "Worked GREAT! It's free!"

by mochajava on May 17, 2006

Pros: I thought downloading this would be a waist of my time. But, since it is free, why not try right? Turns out, it worked fine for me. You can not just download this software and go. You have to follow the instructions carefully. But, I am not technically savvy by any means. So, if I can get it, anyone can.

Cons: I had to dig out my MS Office CD so that I could install the CDO for Outlook. This stands for Collaboration Data Objects. It iÃ?Â?s what makes ConvertMe work. Also, my categories did not copy over (business contact verse personal phone number). But, I can fix that later. This is one of the easiest and the cheapest solutions out there if you have an older Palm device that will not sync to Outlook.
