This scheduling application is designed to control your kids' computer use, but its efforts are easily overthrown.
While Computer Time Monitor's tabbed interface looks dreary, it's easy enough to operate. The program lets you add a maximum of six user accounts and select different usage limits for each. Computer Time Monitor promptly logs the user off when the allotted time expires.
Unlike similar apps, you can't award bonus time. Also missing are controls to limit or restrict access to programs or Web sites, as well as monitoring tools to log Web activity or take screenshots. The trial version is Save-disabled, so you can't modify the program settings. Computer Time Monitor is password-protected; unfortunately it's easily disabled via the Task Manager and can be removed without the password.
There are more competent scheduling programs available, and we suggest you skip Computer Time Monitor.
The PlutoSoft Computer Time Monitor is a comprehensive application that allows computer time usage to be monitored and controlled. Up to six named users of a Windows XP computer can have their usage independently controlled on a day-by-day basis.
