"Not versatile, costs too much."
Version: CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2010SE
Pros
I wish I could provide a single pro, heavens I tried to think of a single one to no avail.
Cons
Not WYSIWYG, particularly when loading HTML code. Does not load, and on the Website it sits off somewhere else compared to the editor. Generated HTML code builts procedures so that you canot just copy parts of it and put it on your existing WebPage
Summary
I paid for this piece of crap and emailed the company and they never returned my email. I also have paid for another Webdesigner "package" that I never downloaded and they never refunded my money. I a, better off coding in notepad than using this program that seems to be right out of the eighties. Save your money guys.

"Hard to learn, easy to use."
Version: CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2010SE
Pros
UI, daily tips, like replace which can be scoped to one doc, open docs, docs in a folder.
Cons
The online help has lots of opportunities for personal growth.
Summary
Net net - I'm a casual web page developer, and this tool is extremely helpful to a user of my skill level.
Once you've figured out HOW to do something in CoffeeCup it's very easy to use. It also has a great number of productivity features. My favorite, after two weeks with the product, is "replace" which you can scope to the current file, all open files, or all files in a particular directory.
The "daily" tips are the best (and only?) way to figure out all the cool features the product has and how to take advantage of them. -
"i can't uninstall it"

Pros
...........
Cons
i can't uninstall it

"too complicated for the web-page hobbyist"
Version: CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2010
Pros
very structured and organized
Cons
a little cluttered in its structure, and too complicated for someone who is used to doing their pages in visual. Probably great for the code writer
Summary
great for someone who wants to learn to write code seriously.

"program freezes"
Version: CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2010
Pros
The program color codes tags.
Cons
Every time I cut and paste text into the file, CoffeeCup would freeze and give a memory access error. When I open the file in my browser and then return to CoffeeCup, it would read ask if I would like to reload the file.

"Continued lack of 1 feature keeps me from using it"
Version: CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2010
Pros
Easy to use for the most part. Like the CSS menu builder. Active development. Lifetime upgrades.
Cons
Lacks ability to maintain the aspect ratio of images when resizing.
Summary
Since first buying this it has lacked one feature that keeps me installing and then uninstalling the upgrades - the ability to maintain the aspect ratio of images when resizing.
Seems like such a simple feature that virtually every other editor I've tried seems to have. I don't understand why they don't fix it. I suppose I could spend a lot more upfront design time calculating and fixing the dimensions of all of my images before adding them to my web pages, but for a novice/amateur web page builder like me, the lack of this one feature is a real pain and keeps me going back to KompoZer or an old version of FrontPage. -
"Nothing special, many other ones are much better."
Version: CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2008
Pros
*Syntax highlighting
Cons
*Always crashed(Had to restart)
*Have to save everytime to switch workspaces
*There are maybe 3 themes, and each one costs about 15 dollars.
*The text editing is poor, so is the tag validation.Summary
Coffeecup HTML Editor is really just something that can syntax highlight, and nothing other then that. I wouldn't recommend it.

"Non-existent free customer support"
Version: CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2008
Pros
Basic functions relatively easy to use.
Cons
1. Customer support is extremely poor, virtually non-existent, and not knowledgeable of the program.
2. The program is very limited. Even if you purchase additional modules, there are still severe limitations to the program.Summary
1. Customer support costs $15 for 30 minutes. There;s a chat support, but they never reply. You can also choose to send questions to support, but the answers take 1-2 days to arrive, and are regurgitations of the manual, not answering the questions.
2. The basic kit has very limited, basic functions. In order to do more than just basic functions, you need to buy individual program modules, some of which are just as expensive as the basic program. By the time you are finished purchasing all of the modules needed to put together a nice website, you have spent as much money as a quality high-end program such as dreamweaver etc. -
"I had trouble using it"
Version: CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2008
Pros
I did not use it enough to really like anything
Cons
I had trouble with directories matching up with documents already donew in Dreamweaver
Summary
I am NOT an experienced HTML person - I just make occasional changes to text on existing pages - For years I have only used Dreamweaver - Understanding that will help you evaluate my review - This program would not put the pictures in the correct directory when I uploaded to the server - I don't know why because I was using the same template I used for Dreamweaver - I tried for an hour or so and then just deleted the trial version I was using - it wasnt' worth the effort..

"Very steep learning curve."
Version: CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2008
Pros
Nothing good to say!
Cons
They promise an easy to use program but I found it very, very difficult. Would not advise for beginners or even intermediate users.
Summary
Forget it.
