CloneSpy provides users with an incredibly fast way of checking their computers for duplicate files that may be taking up valuable space. With speed, ease, and results, this is a fantastic choice for users.
The program's single-screen interface is so simple, most users will not have to look at the Help file for direction. With its actions clearly spelled out on screen, users will be checking their computers for duplicates in no time. Users select folders from a file tree. Once the folders are chosen, users can select a radio button to determine which pool of folders to compare, what to search for (duplicates, same file names or both) and what action to take when they are found (the easiest is to have the computer ask). From there, users simply ask the computer to compare and the screen shows a percentage graph that determines how many more files need to be checked. When duplicates are found, users are given the option to delete, ignore, or rename a program. CloneSpy works surprisingly fast (ours search only took 40 seconds) and its results are accurate and easy to operate. One excellent feature is the program's capability to lock in a pool. This saves the folders in that pool, so users can come back time and time again to check.
With simple use and fast results, this freeware program is a great option for anyone dealing with duplicate files.
CloneSpy will free up drive space on your PC by finding and removing duplicate files. Clonespy is also able to find files that are not exactly identical, but have the same filename. This allows you remove any older versions. Furthermore Clonespy can find zero length files. That are files that do not have any content. Altogether with CloneSpy you can process files which - are duplicates - have the same file names - are duplicates and have the same file names - are zero bytes long.
What's new in this version:
Version 2.6 added Zero length files can now be handled as normal files (see Time + Size tab of the Option window),checksums can now be exported by using %c in the export list format (see Export tab of the Options window) and folders in a pool can now be explored in the Add folder window.
