    "Free anonymous proxy solution!"

    March 17, 2014  |   By DMike76

Version: ChrisPC Free Anonymous Proxy 5.1

    Pros

I'm using this software for over 1 year now and I must say it works really good. The new version 5.00 works better and supports Safari too beside IE, Chrome and Firefox.
Don't know why people complain that they have bundles in the setup, all freeware software do that today, just keep your eyes open when installing and all is fine. If you don't want any bundle use and purchase the PRO version.
And another thing, because you use an anonymous proxy is normal for Google to show a captcha on first search, after that it won't ask you. If you don't like that just use Bing or Yahoo.

    Cons

I would want a faster connection on some countries, but that's the FREE version limitation.

"Stolen Privoxy app filled with Spyware"

    February 21, 2014  |   By mister-marmot

Version: ChrisPC Free Anonymous Proxy 5.0

    Pros

    Well it has Privoxy.

    Cons

Tries to install 4 pieces of spyware on install. These do NOT come from CNET but are in it's own direct installer.

Doesn't actually work because settings issues. Checked my 'new' IP on whatsmyip.com and nothing changed.

Stole Privoxy app's code, which actually does work well but is confusing to setup.

    Summary

Don't waste your time or believe the shills posting positive reviews.

    Pros

    None. It's a spyware.

    Cons

Kaspersky has detected Marketscore Spyware. Some sites started asking me for captcha confirmations because of suspicious traffic coming from my machine.

    Summary

    Do not download it.

    "Very very reliable."

    July 9, 2013  |   By Bookspy

Version: ChrisPC Free Anonymous Proxy 4.10

    Pros

This ALWAYS works. Not only does it conceal your external ip(This is for those who use routers, there is an internal and external ip, an websites for some reason can access both), but this proxy also changes our internal ip. Decent internet connection speed, although sometimes for the proxy connection to be made, it takes awhile (Longest wait was 2 minutes, but usually around 15 seconds). This has multiple countries, though I always choose the option "Random Country" for it will choose the proxy with highest speeds, which turns out to be mostly Germany.

    Cons

When downloading through CNet, there are toolbars and other softwares that are included. Most allow you to decline downloading and installing. If you are downloading through Cnet, be sure to know what you are accepting to. I am not completely sure, but if you go to ChrisPC's website, they have the software for download, and it does not contain these extra softwares. I ran this proxy through virustotal.com, and 4 sources claimed that this may be a virus. That may be because of its proxy functions, but my computer is working perfectly fine. I do not recommend signing into any sites, or inputting any credit card information. If you must sign in, do so before activating this proxy.

    Summary

    I recommend this to everyone:)

    "Worse than useless"

    May 19, 2013  |   By DigitalDavey

Version: ChrisPC Free Anonymous Proxy 4.10

    Pros

None. This does not do anything it is supposed to do.

    Cons

This doesn't work. I ran this in tandem with an IP location detector. I had set the region as United Kingdom. First it shewed a location in Equatorial Guinea and next time I ran it, a location in Lower Saxony. It alternated between these twice, then when I ran it after that, the IP detector just saw my correct location. Added to this, it appears to have facilitated the downloading of malware onto my computer.

    Summary

    Avoid this malicious software.

"Unblocks Hulu.com, Netflix and restricted video sites"

    May 6, 2013  |   By DMike76

Version: ChrisPC Free Anonymous Proxy 4.10

    Pros

I travel a lot and can't access Hulu and Netflix while I'm not in US, so I've tried this and purchased the Expat Internet Browsing Add-on which unblocks many entertainment video websites beside the one I want, which is a bonus :)
The access to Hulu is really smooth, just start the application, choose Expat Mode and the website you want to access and press Connect! It's very easy to use.

    Cons

Sometimes connection is slow, but seems that it happens only on first load of the website, when you access it again, it uses the cached files.

"deemed to do as it said it would."

    May 1, 2013  |   By lostindawindows

Version: ChrisPC Free Anonymous Proxy 4.10

    Pros

It probably works OK. Uninstalled with no issues.

    Cons

Be careful when you install, its loaded with add ware. Just read before you click continue and the installation will be fine. The program said it was working, but was a bit over my head. I wasn't sure what to do with it.

    Summary

If you know what your doing and have reasons to cover your tracks. its probably a good program.I was just curious! As with all free downloads read before you click when going through the installation. To give it any less than four stars would not be fare to the programers, It installed with no issues and seemed to be doing what was promised.I didn't know what to do with it once I had it installed.

    "Too Much Adware, Toolbars, Malware"

    April 30, 2013  |   By vectrexer

Version: ChrisPC Free Anonymous Proxy 4.10

    Pros

None. There are too many other application that attempt to install themselves in a manner that is too easy to click through.

    Cons

Lots of evil ancillary 'ware that is not want was desired with the download.

    Summary

Avoid this download. It's not worth the PIA because of the other 'wares included.

    Updated on Apr 30, 2013

Even the Uninstaller attempts to install more 'ware during the uninstall process!
