CNET Editors' review
Despite a somewhat counterintuitive design, this program makes a capable CD burner. When we first launched Cheetah CD Burner, we were surprised to find the pane for exploring our PC on the right and the contents of the new CD on the left. We're used to seeing such programs arranged the other way around.
The application can burn data and audio CDs at speeds of up to 40x, and we appreciate having the option to add files to a project by simply right-clicking them. You also can make a boot disc or copy an entire CD. Clicking the Settings tab lets you finalize your disc and use buffer control. The CD ripper encodes files in both MP3 and WAV formats and can access an online database for track and album information. The program also has tools for extracting audio from AVI video clips and converting audio files among such popular formats as MP3, WMA, and OGG.
The Cheetah Web site currently has a deal offering the app for free, if you post a link back to their Web site. All things considered, we think Cheetah CD Burner makes a fine choice.

"Downloaded - has some kind of spyware"
Version: Cheetah CD Burner 4.14
Pros
see summary
Cons

Summary
I have a clean machine. Upon starting the sofware...a dialog box opened and it was grabbing an old Turbotax 2005 file,....when I cancelled it,...it immediately opened another and tried to compile my TurboTax 2006 file.
So,....what am I supposed to think? I called the S.F. Office,...left a message with Cnet about the problem,.....no call back yet. Its been a few days now. -
"OK but there are better"
Version: Cheetah CD Burner 4.14
Pros
It did burn a good disk but I would not call it the fastest animal on the planet.
Cons
I tested this against Nero, Media player and Express burn and it was by far the slowest to burn the same cd.
Summary
If you want cheap, try a free program. If you want full feature and fast, I still like the older Nero suites.

"It works yipeee!!!"
Version: Cheetah CD Burner 4.14
Pros
I have the new windows 7 OS with Windows Media Player 12 and no matter what I tried and the hours of research I could not burn an audio cd with mixed mp wav files etc.. I just downloaded this and it worked 1st time...Great!!!
Cons
Haven't noticed any yet

"Don't bother. This comes with a tracker cookie."
Version: Cheetah CD Burner 4.14
Pros
Couldn't say. It wouldn' work without it's tracker cookie.
Cons
The tracker cookie permanently and inextricably attached to the download.

"One discrepancy with the cnet description"
Version: Cheetah CD Burner 4.14
Pros
Very capable program! I like the feel of it.
Cons
Online help file & cnet's description both indicate Cheetah can copy an audio CD, but that feature is missing.
Summary
If CD copying is reserved for registered (paying) users, please say so before inviting me to download & install the program. Otherwise, the feature has been removed and the reference to CD copying should be omitted from your review, where you state...

"Useless. The program keeps crashing"
Version: Cheetah CD Burner 4.14
Pros
Nice interface
Cons
The program keeps crashing in the middle of burning a CD. Thank god I used the trial version first, it would have been a complete waste of money.
Summary
This would have been nice if it actually worked
I got it to work. it's actually pretty good

"Saving a project not so cool"
Version: Cheetah CD Burner 4.14
Pros
Quick and painless to install and uninstall. Nice GUI. Intuitive.
Cons
Only save option for projects was ISO, which eats a lot of space for big projects.
Summary
The fact that the software only saves ISO files means it eats up a lot of HD space if you want to save several different CDs worth of info. I'm used to RecordNow's 2KB or smaller project files - Cheetah's 700MB per file is too much for me. That said, it seems like it'd be a great program for folks just looking to compile CDs they didn't need to keep archived for duplication.

"Didn't work for me"
Version: Cheetah CD Burner 4.14
Pros
Zip. Zilch. Wasted my time.
Cons
Went to use it, it jumped to the internet. I HATE software that does that. Didn't like the nag screen. It finally did erase my CD (I assume it erased the index/directory). Then it wouldn't burn any file I tested on it to the "erased" CD. Uninstalled.
Summary
Bad experience. Time is money. See ya.

"Simple, easy to use program that works"
Version: Cheetah CD Burner 4.14
Pros
lightning-fast cd burning
clean, simple interface
works well on VistaCons
When making audio CDs, it doesn't let me name the CDs I burn. I didn't look very far into this, but if it does let you type in a name for the CDs before you burn them, the way to access that feature isn't intuitive. It lets you name data CDs, though.
Summary
I've created several audio CDs with this program and have never had a problem with it. It is surprisingly fast, and well worth the money I will spend to purchase it when my trial is up.

"Always freezes"
Version: Cheetah CD Burner 4.14
Pros
Nice interface
Cons
It wouldn't work for me. I read all the reviews, and it seems to work for everyone else, but whenever I tried dragging a file onto it, it just freezes.
Summary
Anyone in need of a burner should give the product a try since it looks pretty easy to use, but just forewarning anyone who does that it might not work. Read all the reviews first, especially the earlier ones, where there's some criticism.
