The easy level is easy enough for my son to beat. The others are challenging enough for me. Great for when you can't find anyone to play checkers.

Works!!! must admit I had the slow running thing. Was about to give it a low rating. However, first visited their faq.html and did the [Windows Compatibility] settings ... All Works perfectly now!!!!

Can't say anyting negative yet. Only played one game thus far - with default settings - and got beaten!!

Those who rate it as unstable, it must be their system. As far as Must Take rule, this is checkers after all, it IS a RULE - get over it. This is a nice game for a free game. Problem I think those rating this bad have, they want $300 software for free.

Ok. I think I know the problem for those of you that can't install it, and other probs. Ok 1. It needs a lot of pc memory, so you can't open any other programs while you're playing 2. I'm using WinXp and a new fast pc, this is probably what you need in order to install and play this game efficiently. 3. You need a fast pc for it to not run slow. 4. As for the moves being controlled, this is not true, there is an option that says, GET A HINT, this ONLY HINTS AT WHAT MOVE YOU MIGHT WANT TO MAKE, but you can always choose your own move. 5. In Checkers you must jump your oponent's piece if you get into that situation (must!) so you really have no other choice but to jumpt the friggin piece. 6. I'd like to stress that the game needs a lot of memory in order to calculate moves and so forth, so YOU DO need to only be playing the game, nothing else.
Overall though, the game is great! The Easy mode of the game is even harder than the expert players down in the interent checkers provided with windows! Everyone should get this! -

I'd been playing a checkers game on my Palm for several months and got bored, so I went looking for better competition. Boy, did I find it! This checkers program is tough for me, even on Easy mode. Other people have had problems with installation or crashes. I've had neither problem, but I have noticed some strange behavior a couple of times. Nothing catastrophic, however.
