Not just another mah-jongg game, Championship Mahjongg Solitaire trumps the competition with tremendous gameplay and customization options. Unfortunately, the demo offers only one-player solitaire and one tile layout. However, it does include 20 lovely tile sets, 52 backgrounds, and 12 choices of background music, the last of which you download separately by clicking a button on the main screen. You also can design your own layouts. The registered version provides access to two-player solitaire, a Concentration-like game, a flip-flop variant, and more than a hundred tile layouts. If you get stuck, help is a button-click away. A window mode and the ability to save games make Championship Mahjongg Solitaire suitable for play during work breaks. It's a resource hog, though, and ran very slowly on a Pentium III-class test system. However, if you have the CPU and you're jonesing for some solitaire action, Championship Mahjongg Solitaire will flip your tiles.
