"Works well for recovering digital photo files"
I had a SD card go bad (happens more often than we'd expect!) and the demo indicated it could recover at least some of my photos. With a purchase, I was able to recover the photos - this was several years ago, so I don't know now how many. I think all were recovered. Therefore, I am happy.
It is possible that a cheap camera or card reader could be part of your problems. Replacing your card reader with a new one would be less expensive. If that doesn't solve your problems, then try the program.
DOES NOT CLAIM TO RECOVER VIDEO FILES, JUST PHOTOS!
Does not claim to recover VIDEO files, just photos. If you need to recover the videos from your digital camera's media card, you need to look elsewhere.
I don't know if you can upgrade from a prior version for free, or if you need to buy the new version. So, you should be sure to save the install file of your original purchase before you download the new version! Contact the vendor if you want to be sure about your upgrade options.
I used CardRecovery successfully and was happy with my purchase. I do not know if you can upgrade from a previous purchased version without buying it again, so contact the vendor if you have a prior version.
