This program has everything the average car owner is looking for, and the 'Summary' tab gives a great overview of a vehicle's usage statistics, MPGs and various expenses (total and averages). The MPG graphs are nice too!

Summary
This is the first software 'review' I've ever written, but felt it was necessary because of the poor (and unjustified, in my opinion) reviews of the older versions. I've actually been a Car Trak user since version 2 and have NEVER experienced any of the problems claimed in those old reviews. In addition, the ONE small problem I encountered in the version 3 release was quickly solved by an e-mail to the author. (Fantastic tech support ... that problem was actually caused by my system but he helped me solve it anyway.) And I also know that when a true 'bug' IS reported to him he quickly fixes the problem and posts a free minor-version upgrade patch on his web site.
I hope my experience will be helpful to those looking for an easy but full-featured application like this one ... it's sometimes difficult to find a good application with great support nowadays so I'd urge you to give this one a try. -

Summary
I almost didn't try this program, based on old user reviews still recorded for the version 3 edition. I'm so glad I decided to listen to the ONLY version 4 user review recorded here ... this application is exactly what I was searching for.
If you're "on the fence" about this one you can get more info at the author's web site (including recent improvements & bug fixes), and just try it for yourself --- it's not a large download file! -

After just one hour of using your program, I was sold! Your program is excellent!
I began mechanics when I was 14 years old rebuilding my first 4 cylinder engine. Since then have built 6's and 8's. Worked in that trade for about 6 years and then moved on. However I have always enjoyed mechanics and have maintained my own vehicles for over 48 years.
Everyone knows how difficult it is to keep track of all the maintenance schedules, mileage and service that has been done. What parts, costs and where parts were purchased. Basically impossible unless you're a perfectionist with time on your hands.
It has always been a problem for me to properly maintain my vehicles over the years as life seems to get more complicated and time is at a premium. Your program makes it easy to keep track of all the maintenance. Allows any data to be accessed in a easy report style that is one of the best features I like. Running totals of all the data and the mileage feature and grafting is outstanding.
I have looked for several years to find a program that would do most of what I like about keeping records and you have made it very easy and allows the user to either provide greater detail or not.
Cons
There's nothing not to like. It does it all.

I encountered similar problems as the other users did here with my computer locking up when trying to use this software. The worst part is that even after uninstalling this program my computer is still not the same. I would recommend avoiding this software.

This software freezes my computer everytime I try to use it. There is obviously something seriously wrong with this program. Look elsewhere...there are much better programs out there that offer much more for the price.

Lots of bugs and it crashes my computer repeatedly. Its poorly designed and was a waste of time to even download.

Summary
I wished I could have given a thumbs up on this product. It is the only one that I have found that has the features layed out the way I would like to see them. I hope to make contact with the author to see if these can or will be fixed. It could be the (new) hp laptop that I am using... who knows? I sure hope i can get it to work.
