Thanks for trying CaptureWiz! About the big file sizes, we don't compress while recording because it results in poor quality and sluggish behavior. We use a format that's optimized for recordings.
About the blank audio, usually the problem is in selecting the right audio channel. Here's how:

As for the interface, yes it's different than others, we think it's simpler.
As for ease of use, recording takes just 4 steps:
1 On the capture bar, click Video.
2 Select the area to record.
3 Click Start.
4 Click Stop.
As for limited features, did you see the new scroll tool? We think it's the best in the business.
Top ten features:
1 Choice of outputs
2 Capture bar
3 Predictive capture
4 Selection tweaking
5 Scroll capture
6 Timed recording
7 Frame tool
8 Sticky notes
9 Thumbnail viewer
10 Macro functions
