Version: CanoScan LiDE 30 ScanGear CS-U 7.0.1.0
"Another waste of time from canon"
Pros: A good way to waste time and energy, hoping a shoddy product will work.
Cons: I have been searching for over 8 days to try to get my scanner to work. Many are frustrated with the lack of help from canon. Many say they would never buy from canon again. I am beginning to feel the same way. Uninstall, install, over 10 times 10 diferent ways; no luck.

your complaint seems to be about the software setup, not the scanner.....very often, there is a glitch in the computer that will prevent new hardware installation...you dont mention if it failed to install on a different computer...it installed fine on several of my computers, under different operating systems and hardware configurations...i have used this scanner for several years on different computers, and have never had any problems.....it has been the best product for the price that i have ever had.....it beats hewlett packard, in my opinion....btw, you dont have to use the canon software to use this scanner, any other good imaging software will work...this works well with other brands of scanware and ocr software....
