i know many users of this scanner and their computer and printer does not crash......they use win 98, xp, and vista. obviously, there is something wrong with your computer and your installation.....this is a wonderful little scanner....it outperforms larger, more expensive scanners....lightweight, and no power supply needed, i carry it in my laptop bag and have a full size scanner anywhere i go....if you dont like the scanner, put it up for auction on ebay, there are plenty of people who are looking for this model..
