"Audio Editor Is Dreadful"
Pros
The video capture, transistions, and production to multiple formats is pretty cool. The Video Capture and the Studio both work very well.
Cons
The audio editor is simply horrid. When you delete sections of your audio, this editor often deletes sections that you did not choose and the following segment becomes garbled and choppy. I have experienced time when it appeared that the correct section was deleted but when the file is saved the deleted section remains while the section that I wanted to keep was deleted.
Saving files frequently results in an error and the editor closes without saving.
After five months of trying this software and many interactions with cutomer support, I have had to revert to a process whereby I record my audio, make a duplicate of the recording so that I can edit it and when the edited version crashes or deletes segments that I did not want deleted I can go back to the original, create another copy and try again. It generally takes me three attempts to successfully edit a ten minute audio.
The disappointing thing is that I used this system when it was version 3.1 (current version is 5.2) and it was rock solid. I upgraded on the same computer and then things fell apart. I was told by their customer support that they recommend that I use a free audio editor instead of theirs.
The audio editor is frustrating like nothing I have experiened. I strongly recommend that if you use Camtasia that you use an alternate audio editor for your .wav files.
