Version: Camtasia Studio 6.0.3
Pros: very simple and elegant UI , powerful enough to capture every desktop activity
Cons: i was slightly disappointed about the price , too expensive for personal use
Summary: there is plenty of desktop capture freeware that are somehow can be described as alternatives. however, i think this software can compete with these programs if the price get reduced. i very recommend this software despite the huge price difference . read more

"Best Gaming Screen-capture software"
Pros: -> Excellent capturing quality. Set to 'No compression' & frame rate around 40. Tested games: Counter Strike, Crossfire
-> Pan/zoom-in on areas (after video is produced)
-> Easy to use =D
-> Doesn't lag here:
-> 4 GB RAM, 2.0 Ghz, Dual-coreCons: -> Audio capture 'ok' for in-game sounds
-> Played 1.5 hours on a game with settings: Uncompressed/ 40 frames/sec. Works well, but you have to wait 2 hours for the video file to be created afterwards. Less frames/sec or compression needs less time!Summary: In short, I'm impressed with Camtasia, since I've tried several other screen-capturing softwares as well (Wink, HyperCam, BSR Screen Recorder). This one works well and gives good quality =D

"good but not that great, was not worth the money"
Pros: easy to set up and adjust to any screen size, play back was good and editing was good as well
Cons: the sound on the end of all my recording would go to static, i have to restart the prog many times just to make it work
Summary: if they can fix the audio issue it would be a great product read more
