Summary
You may have noticed many reviews are being posted here containing nothing but gibberish. That is being done by the software vendor or people acting on its behalf, to 'scroll' the negative reviews so they are not as easily found or seen.
This is a warning about Camfrog, and you should also know that this information was provided to federal law enforcement and the DOJ in the US.
Contrary to what its Terms of Service stipulates, Camfrog knowingly allows users to broadcast prerecorded videos on their webcams.
Most of those videos depict other Camfrog members and customers, and were secretly recorded without the knowledge or consent of the people appearing in the video.
Recently, Camfrog changed its software so that users of the 'free' version cannot view other users cams for longer than 10 seconds in adult-only video chat rooms.
While Camfrog claims that was done to discourage use of the adult-only portions of its service by minors, the 10-second limit on viewing cams also serves another more nefarious purpose, which is that it prevents potential Camfrog Pro customers from learning that most of the adult-oriented 'action' they see on cams in Camfrog's adult-only video chat rooms, are not live webcams, but rather, pre-recorded videos.
So, Camfrog is actually engaging in a scam operation that involves allowing users and operators of video chat rooms to broadcast prerecorded video, for the purpose of enticing users of the free version of Camfrog to purchase a Camfrog Pro subscription.
Because users of the free version of Camfrog cannot view a user's cam for longer than 10 seconds in adult-only video chat rooms, it is easy for them to be fooled into believing that the cams they do view for only 10 seconds show live users on cam, rather than what many of them actually are, which is pre-recorded video.
We have compiled and documented hunreded of cases where abuse reports were filed against users that were broadcasting prerecorded video on their cams (most of which were plainly-obvious), yet Camfrog and its so-called 'abuse team' did absolutely nothing about them.
In some cases, the same video footage is repeatedly broadcast over and over, every day, and in spite of how obvious it is, Camfrog still refuses to do anything about it.
We have sent letters to the US DOJ and have offered to give them access to the documented cases which clearly show that Camfrog is engaged in an online video scam, for the purpose of luring paying customers to its service. We are very confident that once the truth has been fully-exposed about this online scam, it will be shut down or blocked in the US and EU.
