"Don't waste your time or money."

    June 7, 2014  |   By someRandomRabbit

    Version: Camfrog Video Chat 6.7.356

Camfrog used to be good. See cons for more details.

Also, I'm not sure how CNet can call Camfrog a free program - its free incarnation has so many limitations that it is unusable. In reality, Camfrog is now a monthly subscription-based service of highly dubious value.

Full disclosure: I've used Camfrog for more than 7 years (since before Paltalk bought them) as a fully-paid user. Since the transition, I've seen them rip out nearly every useful feature and basically destroy the community that Camfrog built, and that makes me [Insert lame Paltalk-designed 'sad frog' emoticon here].

Sadly, Camfrog has been on a downward slide for the past several years. Each new release removes at least one valuable feature, replacing it with dubious 'social' features (i.e. "let's take away the ability to view which users are in a given room, but we'll add some junk emoticons and call that an enhancement!")

Honestly the only reasons I still stick with Camfrog these days are:

    - I have a small group of friends who I still interact with on here.
    - I have one of the coveted lifetime licenses (from before Paltalk bought them out and started charging exorbitant monthly fees), so I at least don't have to pay good money every month to witness Paltalk destroying the Camfrog community.

Honestly, I loved this application - I met hundreds of cool people from around the world, had great conversations, learned new things, etc. Sadly, they're doing their best to ruin that entire experience, and they're doing a bang-up job of it.

All I can say is that Paltalk is doing its best to destroy the competitor that it bought out. Don't bother wasting your money on Camfrog (or Paltalk for that matter) - There are better alternatives out there.

"Camfrog is a danger to children and to you."

    May 8, 2014  |   By LiveByTheTruth

    Version: Camfrog Video Chat 6.7.356

Camfrog claims on it's website. 90 million plus downloads, and currently as of writing this 147,493 people online.

Understand just because a program says 147,493 people are online does not mean they are using Camfrog it just means CF is running on their device probably by default when they boot it.

When you divide 90 million claimed downloads by 147,493 users online you end up with approximately .002 (two-tenths-of-one-percent) of the users who download Camfrog continuing to use it.

As of this writing in the North America UK region on Camfrog there is is only about one-thousand users in total in all-ages and in 18+ rooms combined.

You must purchase a pro-code to be able to see webcams for more than ten-seconds in 18+ rooms. Also, no iOS devices whatsoever can get into 18+ rooms on Camfrog. So, no portable Apple devices can get into or make use of Camfrog 18+ rooms at all. The combined effect of no iOS devices allowed to access Camfrog 18+ rooms and requiring a procode for more than ten-seconds of viewing in 18+ has dramatically increased the wankers on webcam in the all-ages rooms on Camfrog.

Camfrog has hypocrisy from the admin level on down. There is always two-faced moderation and politics. Camfrog has a constant stream of wankers masturbating on webcam in all-ages General and Camfrog Owned rooms. Camfrog frequently has adult middle aged men on underage profile accounts masturbating in all-ages. Their is in-fighting between admins and different Camfrog room owners. There are many people with mic-grabbers. Many instances on Camfrog of accounts being stolen pro codes stolen. Both users and private rooms on Camfrog and Camfrog Owned rooms all get DDoSed on a regular basis. Camfrog is very unreliable as a service and frequent service interuptions or partial service lost.

The single biggest problem on Camfrog is both the hypocrisy the terrible two-faced moderators on Camfrog and the wankers and peodophiles rampant everyday all day long 24/7 in the all-ages rooms. Camfrog merely 30-day bans the wankers when they get caught from that specific single room. All the wankers and pedophiles have to do is change their nickname and password and they come back. Camfrog is absolutely unsafe for minors and should solely be run as an 18+ program.

Additionally important: Go to any major porn website, type in Camfrog in any porn search website and you will immediately find hundreds of Camfrog users who were illegally recorded and uploaded to many porn sites. Camfrog is full of abuses, users being recorded and uploaded to different porn sites is just one of the serious abuses.

Admins should be monitoring all age rooms; when Camfrog finds an adult on a minors account, also masturbating on that minor account in an all-ages room. Camfrog should immediately macban total service ban those people as their is clear and overwhelming evidence that they are dangerous and targeting minors to masturbate to. I am very disgusted and disappointed that Camfrog has been allowed to run like this for so long.

In Camfrog China General region. For the last three years now 18+ adult porn rooms have been allowed to run in all-ages General China section. Huge Chinese rooms in General all-ages full of xxx porn-shows every day. No Camfrog admins do anything to stop it. There are many instances ongoing on Camfrog that prove there is hypocrisy. Camfrog is run with the morality of a strip club.
