"Lacks features for a power user"

    May 23, 2009  |   By ivanmad

Version: CalorieKing Diet, Nutrition and Exercise Manager 4.0.4

    Pros

Tracks a good deal of information, easy to use. doesn't crash, tracks exercise

    Cons

Unable to export everything you put into it. I can't export to create better reporting. For example sugar can't be exported.. Search feature within software should be much easier.

    Summary

I really like the product. However I believe there is a good deal of features that are lacking that I would like to humbly suggest that would make this product more useable.

    1. The export feature is fairly lacking. There are several fields of data that the user can input however are not available during export. Such as, "Energy Intake" & "Sugar". I look at the Reports->Nutrients then select what I want to see on the graph and I expect to be able to then hit "export" and be able to export that particular data. Instead I have to download everything, then manipulate the data doing a summation in Excel. the problem there however is that the summation takes into account the net from exercise, I don't want the exercise deducted. I want to know the total Energy Intake.

    2. Searching for Foods - When I am in the diary and I type in words in the search screen I have to remember whether something is under "Foods", "Custom Food" or "Saved Meals" because I have to retype the search for each field. That is inconvenient. I should be able to click any of the tabs without having to retype the search term each time.....

Anyway I think you get the point. For 50$ I would expect to have a more feature rich and configurable product. I am fairly dissapointed with my purchase.

The nutritional database isn't the best on the internet. I often have to go to the internet to find foods and then create a custom food.

"Great product, Huge database of food!"

    April 22, 2008  |   By heh1987

Version: CalorieKing Diet, Nutrition and Exercise Manager 4.0.4

    Pros

I've been downloading programs from download.com for a long long time, but I've never felt the need to purchase one, until now. I downloaded this program and fell in love with it. it's so easy to search for food in the database or to add your own food. It has all the major restaurants and fast food chains in the database too. The database also updates itself, and new foods are added often (from what i can tell). You get green check marks when you are under your calorie limit and when you have exercised enough for the day. The product really does help me stay on track, If I know I have to enter I ate a big mac, then I'm less apt to do it. It also makes going out to dinner easier. If I'm going to chili's, I can look up the food I want to eat before I leave, when i get to the restaurant I know what I'm eating and exactly how bad it is for me.

"Excellent, really helps me focus myself"

    December 3, 2006  |   By Putergeek

Version: CalorieKing Diet, Nutrition and Exercise Manager 4.0.4

    Pros

The program covers all the details I wanted to track, plus more. It has tons of pre-entered food information, including restaurant menu items from lots of popular chains. (Who knew Chili's food was so high in calories?)

I am so pleased with how easy it was to set up (and a little frightened by the BMI... but it's definitely information I should be aware of as I work on my fitness plan)

I believe this is the missing link to my previous attempts at changing my lifestyle and may help me keep from slipping once I reach my goals.

    "Great interface, easy to use"

    September 9, 2006  |   By Recycled Plastic

Version: CalorieKing Diet, Nutrition and Exercise Manager 4.0.4

    Pros

Very beautiful interface. Very easy to use. It does all the calculations for you. You only need to enter your food and exercise. Great copy day feature.

    Cons

Online forum requires paid membership. It has all the measurement entries to calculate body fat percent and still doesn't calculate it.
