Recording measurements with a caliper can be a bit of a pain. Thankfully, Caliper2PC connects to a digital caliper to help you record multiple measurements. The program is a major pain to set up, though. It sends so many roadblocks your way during installation that you'll think twice about using the program before you've even fully launched it.
The program is designed to work with a digital caliper, so you need one to make it run properly. The program frequently claims that you need to give it administrator access to work, too. However, the download worked fine without it. Since Caliper2PC caused an alert from anti-virus software and from Windows' firewall, you should probably give it as little information as you can. It took a few tries to get the software to recognize an attached USB device. It communicated easily enough once things were set up, but the setup process was so frustrating that it made finding the program's features a pain. That's not saying the layout is bad; it's actually relatively smooth. There's just nothing remarkable enough about this software to make it worth putting up with the awful setup process.
If your digital caliper didn't come with its own software, and you couldn't find any other program to use, Caliper2PC could be a good option. It will manage your measurements just fine, even though the setup process is quite painful.
Caliper2PC includes a digital readout for mills and lathes as well as numerous other features. Two built-in tachometers can measure tool machines' spindle speeds. It includes an appealing 7-segment display in LED and LCD style. The display size, colors, and fonts can individually be defined in the software. In addition, the display can be freely labeled by the user, e.g. X-, Y-, and Z-axis. For each caliper a switch can be connected to capture measured values or to reset the DRO. This PC based DRO can be used with touch screens and offers all features you need for your tooling machines.
