    "Looks promising, but has issues"

    March 30, 2011  |   By honkerdown

Version: CalemEAM Community Edition CMMS/EAM 2.1

    Pros

Open source, free, and is "cloud based".

    Cons

No support. Free or open source version is difficult to install, if yoiu can install at all. Poor or no documentation.

    Summary

In trying out the demo on their site, I was super excited to give CalemEAM a shot. It would suit our needs well, and would not be a budget buster for the relatively small system we need.

But that being said, it took me several tries to get it installed, and I am a web developer familiar with the technologies involved. The documentation is poor or nonexistent. Finally got it installed, and cannot log into the system using the supplied default username & pass.

For the time and frustration involved, I have moved on to evaluating other EAM/CMMS systems.

"Just enough complexity to get the job done."

    March 4, 2009  |   By flegace

Version: CalemEAM Community Edition CMMS/EAM 2.1

    Pros

This is a complete application. Others are just not there yet. This will scale up well in the coming years.

    Cons

Reduced funtionality for open source version. Some of this stuff is necessary and the costs can be enormous for a small business.

    Summary

Very well done software - looks are important too! So far people like using it.
