ALL NEW VERSION! — Ever wanted to add 2/3 + 7/8 to find it equalled 1 13/24? Well now you can with the all-new version of CalcPlus X. Yes CalcPlus X now does maths with fractions! Not only that but it now sports a brand new interface with a larger, clearer display and a separate key for every function.
CalcPlus X's calculator provides a full range of commonly used functions including: Sine; ArcSine; Cosine; ArcCosine; Tangent; ArcTangent; Square; Square root; Power; Natural logarithm; Logarithm base 10; Exponential; Reciprocal; Percentage; Factorial; Pi; Degrees/Radians; Memory plus/minus/recall/clear.
The display can be formatted as currency, or with a fixed number of decimal places (zero to eight) or can be un-fixed (free-formatting). Number formatting is now fully localised (thousands and decimal separators, and currency symbols are determined by the users International System Preference settings)!
Inputed numbers and operations can be edited before execution. All functions have their own keyboard equivalent for quick (mouse-free) keyboard entry!
Fractions mode allows the entry of, and calculations with, fractions. The results returned are returned as fractions, always reduced to their lowest common denominator
CalcPlus X's converter provides quick and easy conversions in the following categories: Length (9 different units to convert to and from); Area (10); Volume (6); Liquid Volume (10); Weight (7); Temperature (3); Currency (11). Conversions include metric and both imperial and US measures. More conversions will be added in future versions.
The converter conveniently pops out in a drawer that can be hidden from view when not in use (although conversions with the last selected units can still be made with the drawer closed). The result of a conversion appears in the calculator display ready for immediate further calculations or conversions.
Currencies can be conveniently updated by selecting a menu item taking the user to a currency update web site.
Popup help is available for all functions by placing the cursor over the applicable button for a second or two. A manual in PDF format is also provide, along with a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) file.
And if you have "Jaguar" (Mac OS X v10.2) CalcPlus X now comes with a sleek brushed metal look! A separate file with the "Classic" look is also in the download package for those without 10.2 or who just prefer the look.
What's new in this version:
- Corrected the updating of the conversion factor and units when selecting "Liquid.." or "Temp..."
- Fixed several memory leaks.
- Abbreviated the Liquid Volume and Temperature conversion category tab names because they were being cut off (now "Liquid..." and "Temp...") – cosmetic only.
