The goal of this terrific little game is to break all the bricks to stop the invading monkeys, but the gameplay differs from other variations on the Breakout theme. Rather than bouncing a ball up and down, Cactus Bruce and the Corporate Monkeys uses a grappling hook to grab and throw any of the multitude of objects on the board. Each item has a different effect, and progressing through the increasingly difficult levels wins friends such as Marvin the Explosive Snowman or Petey the Pigeon, whom you can use to perform powerful attacks. The amusing story line and easy-to-learn gameplay contribute to an excellent experience that offers a good amount of free content and leaves us wanting even more.
The demo offers 14 levels from the campaign mode and three challenges, wherein you try to clear the board as quickly as possible. You can play the campaign on three levels of difficulty, and the three challenges also vary in rigorousness. The demo also offers a timed mode called Tick Tock if you're looking to race the clock. Most gamers will finish the demo quickly on the Easy setting, so for more extreme monkey chaos, crank up the difficulty. We highly recommend Cactus Bruce and the Corporate Monkeys, which is simple to learn and a blast to play.
