"CachemanXP is awesome!"
Version: CachemanXP 1.6.0.15
Pros
I do a lot of graphics and photo manipulation, cutting and pasting objects from many photos together, and using any number of graphic enhancements (sometimes in non-standard ways), until the pieces make one entirely different photo. This takes a lot of memory, and I know from experience that I couldn't do it without CachemanXP.
The response time of my computer is virtually instant. There have been exceptions to this rule, and I would like to touch on that, as it may help others: At times, when I'm saving an especially unwieldy photo, it will seem that my computer has "frozen." If I call up Task Manager, it will report that some program(s) are "Not Responding." What this actually means is that the OS (Microsoft XP SP2, in my case) doesn't recognize how CachemanXP is working with available memory. I now simply walk away from the computer -- and, in two minutes or less (depending on the complexity and memory demands of the multi-part photo), the photo is saved, and everything has gone back to normal.

"THE optimization & Tweak tool gets better"
Version: CachemanXP 1.6.0.15
Pros
It's glad to see that Outertech is up to date, this new version adds support for Intel Quad-core CPUs and AMD Phenom CPU, Windows XP SP3 compatibility, DNS cache tweaks improvements (in order to improve networks and internet performance).
I really recommend this program, it's a very well written software.
Cons
I've checked that this version, under the options tab, has something called "Do not use performance counters" and it's not explained on the Help File. So, just this explanation is missing.

"A very reliable & efficient cache manager, memory manager & windows optimizer"
Version: CachemanXP 1.51
Pros
As a geek (Computer Systems Engineer) I always want to take out the most of my computers, I've tried several utilities like Free Ram XP Pro, PCMedik & PCBoost (Together), advanced windows care (both pro and personal versions). etc.
First I tried the freeware version (it doesn't have the auto-optimize feature)
But by just enabling cacheman XP to manage my computer cache I really noticed a system boost and less swap file - RAM interchange (which means faster response time!).
Also cacheman XP offer a Memory (RAM) manager which works by reclaiming ram for inactive applications and is very customizable:
it allows you to define "if free ram goes below..." value (self explained) and also you can define a time to pause between ram recovery attempts. Also you can define to postpone RAM recovery if CPU usage is over a defined %.
I MUST TELL, that the default setup for the RAM recovery feature never hung up my system or delayed program windows while switching, those are problems I always had with Free Ram XP Pro 1.52 and another RAM recovery tools.
And last but not least it as a Tweaking feature for many aspects of Windows OS.
I liked that every single tweaking aspect is clearly explained on the help file (Advanced windows care and other optimizing / tweaking tools never explain that).
Also cacheman xp allows you to backup your current settings to allow you roll back in case of a problem.
I decided to purchase the registered version and give a try to the auto-optimize feature:
the auto-optimize feature scans the computer and based on the computer profile and hardware setup optimizes it.
I must say that nearly all the optimizations cacheman xp did really improved my overall system performance & stability, the only ones that I don't liked were some visual tweaks, like hide the balloon tips and the font smoothing (clear type), but hey ! they are just merely visual stuff, all the other hardware, software and cache optimizations works fine.
A really great piece of software very well developed
Cons
Just a minor one:
when using auto-optimize, it would be great that Cacheman XP gives a summary of actual settings Vs. optimized settings and let the user decide for each tweak to apply it or not.

"Very good program to avoid "freezing-ups""
Version: CachemanXP 1.1.2.2
Pros
This is the first program that I've downloaded that really makes a difference in terms of computer functioning. My computer was freezing very frequently (even though I have 1.5 GB RAM) and after installing CachemanXP there was a clear improvement
Cons
It is not free!!!!

"Works great!"
Version: CachemanXP 1.1.2.2
Pros
This is one of the first programs I installed on the new computer I built for myself. It's got plenty of settings the advanced user can tweak, plus a great auto-optimize feature that is excellent for novice users (only available after you buy the program). I optimized the settings after installing it, and it works its magic without any further intervention. It can be set to load on system startup. The system tray icon is very handy, and fully customizable (colors, font, update interval, etc.). The program itself has a very small footprint. I leave my computer running 24/7, and with this great little program running on it, I almost never need to restart because of RAM-related issues.
Cons
The full version does cost money, but I consider it to be reasonably priced, and worth every penny. It's a great program I just can't do without.

"It's Up to 1.1, But Is It Up to Snuff?"
Version: CachemanXP 1.0.1.1
Pros
Version 1.1 has all the advantages of 1.0.1. Very flexible, particularly nice for the power user. Allows user to reduce memory use overall or by process.
Cons
Version 1.1 apparently has some conflicts with Symantec applications, possibly others. Support is highly dependent on forum users, with staff providing responses much less timely than in the past. Unclear if CachemanXP is being supported or if all resources are being diverted elsewhere.
For the novice, FreeMemPro 1.5 may be a better bet.
