"The one-and-only true validator around"
Version: CSE HTML Validator Pro 7.0
Pros
This fine product has saved me on a number of occasions, and it has made my life easier and more enjoyable when it comes to that menial chore of validating code. Not only has this great utility nabbed nasty issues here and there, it has aided me greatly in learning the true art of creating compatible code.
Cons
This is full-fledged validator which means that it is probably not well suited to the light-hearted. While it can become quite complex because of its daunting flexibility, an initial period of getting used to it is in the long run worth the investment of time.

"Great, unforgiving validation"
Version: CSE HTML Validator Pro 7.0
Pros
I use only the validator hooked into TextPad and not the actual editor portion of HTML Validator so my review is based solely on that part of the software.
I've been using HTML Validator for 4 or 5 years now and consider it an indispensible tool. The program really nitpicks apart your code and gives messages in clear, easy to understand language by line and character number.
Cons
Settings for the validator options such as flags and styles are not clear and it's a hassle to figure out their meaning. This is really my only complaint about the software and the only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars.

"A wonderful tool that has grown better with each new update"
Version: CSE HTML Validator Pro 7.0
Pros
The CSE HTML Validator is very good at explaining errors and warnings about so many aspects of the code found in a web page. Having been a user since its inception, I've loved seeing it grow and mature into one of the nicest tools available today. It addresses so many aspects of web page development, including the ever more important accessibility issues as well as CSS and HTML code. In addition, it points out possible code problems with previous versions of various browsers. It can't be all things to all people, but it sure can help!!
One important thing to mention, too, is that the developers are stellar in their support for the product.

"Wouldn't use any other HTML validator"
Version: CSE HTML Validator Pro 7.0
Pros
The product is easy to use and configure. I have been using it since its very first beta and would not use any other validator. You can even configure it for any type of HTML validation that you need. Everything is point and click and integrates into many if not most of the html editors that are in use today.

"Excellent tool vor real validation"
Version: CSE HTML Validator Pro 7.0
Pros
Very good and informative error-messages, also good comments.
Cons
Actually there is nothing I could find to talk negatively about.

"Awesome"
Version: CSE HTML Validator Pro 6.53
Pros
I run a commercial website and along with Dreamweaver and my Java development tools, HTML Validator is invaluable in detecting errors in dynamically generated pages.
Cons
Is very picky about the case of tag attributes (wants them to all be lower-case) and 7.0 has detected one false issue (which will probably be fixed with an update).

"simple to use and very effective tool"
Version: CSE HTML Validator Pro 6.53
Pros
as an amateur web designer this simple little program quickly and easily corrects my mistakes whilst teaching me what I've done wrong so I can improve with time.
Cons
defaults to top of root directory every time it's opened. I'd prefer if it just stayed where you left it.

"Essential for checking your web site"
Version: CSE HTML Validator Pro 6.53
Pros
Easily generates reports on HTML errors.

"Great product just gets better"
Version: CSE HTML Validator Pro 6.53
Pros
Validation details nicely broken down by category instead of thrown in one big pot for the user to sort through. Good advice on accessibility issues, including a breakdown by WCAG priority levels. Clean but powerful multi-pane interface. Improved XHTML and CSS syntax-checking, the latter with an assist from TopStyle. Validation can be turned on or off on a per element basis, which puts the user in control of the process. The program is file-oriented but there is a robust batch mode that allows checking of entire directories, complete with a consolidated report.
Cons
Not perfect, but validators are tracking a moving target, so you can't expect perfection. There is no reformatting tool and no clean way (yet) to integrate CSE with the reformatter in HTML-TIdy.
