"Erratic but fine when it works"
Version: CNET TechTracker 2.1
Pros
Analyzes what you have installed and searches for newer versions. Offers "one-click" and "expert" options.
Identifies whether updates are free, trial or require paymentCons
Erratic during execution - claims there is a newer version but there isn't. Sometimes hangs the interface which requires reboot (and it's not the OS or other programs). Needs an option to disable notification for individual updates one will never do such as an update that has known flaws.

"Works on one computer, not on the other - PLUS version?"
Version: CNET TechTracker 2.1
Pros
On my other computer, it works like a charm, if some software updates glitch every now and then by telling me i need to update, I'm fine with that - I know I already did.
Cons
However, just installed on my other computer and software won't update, keeps telling me I have to have the paid "Plus" version but won't let me or tell me how or where to do so.
Summary
If it worked the same on both computers with the same operating system et al., then i'd be a happy camper - as it stands, product is less than useless if I cannot use it at all.

"CNET TechTracker"
Version: CNET TechTracker 2.1
Pros
Keeps me in touch with developments.
Cons
Keeps telling me of software that I don't have and reminds me long after I've updated.
-
"Not all updates work."
Version: CNET TechTracker 2.1
Pros
The scan is very convenient.
Cons
One often has to go to an individual web site for a particular program to successfully update.
-

I've no problems with this program
Cons
None that I've detected.

"Like, huh?????"
Version: CNET TechTracker 2.1
Pros
I'm sorry but I don't have like 1,000 Pro characters. My list is like topped by Ariel and Mickey Mouse
Cons
Like all the bad dudes are my Con characters. Like I don't have a 1,000 of them but, like, I was a pen-pal to a couple of cons one time when I was like, younger.
Summary
So like Winstonebook, MEDKINS, like disagrees completely and now I'm so confused I don't know if I'm Pro or Con, Like or Dislike?!?!?!?!?!???? Like, thanks for all the desention you've brought to my perfectly great day

"Very Beneficial, when used with caution."
Version: CNET TechTracker 2.1
Pros
Very useful as an update monitor for all the programs installed on my computer. It has, on occasion, alerted me to updates that the application itself was as yet unaware.
Cons
Not as user-friendly as I'd like. Must be vigilant when using CNET for downloads, in order to prevent the installation of toolbars and other unwanted programs from my computer.
Summary
For me, TechTracker is a very useful tool in regard to keeping programs up to date (Especially those I rarely use). Personally, I avoid the "Smart Install" feature altogether. Preferring, instead, to use the update feature of the program itself, when possible.

"Disappointing"
Version: CNET TechTracker 2.1
Pros
Alerts you to updates in your software and allows you to sometimes download directly through CNET. If not, it links you to the download.
Cons
Tells me I have several updates needed, even though those programs are current..
Summary
Would be amazing if it actually works.
