"Accomplishes it's job, most of the time."

    November 15, 2011  |   By jamest99

    Version: CNET TechTracker 2.0.4

    Pros

    It is fast and thorogh.

    Cons

Too often it reports software updates when the software involved is already up to date.

    Summary

I have tried it a few times and it still reports updates that are not required.

    "Not worth the Trouble"

    November 13, 2011  |   By TheGent2U

    Version: CNET TechTracker 2.0.4

    Pros

    Great idea. But keep reading.

    Cons

The links did not work properly. I was advised to go to a link that I could not locate. I deleted and re-downloaded the program 3 times. I could never resolve this. It scanned my system and told me that I was using outdated versions of Firefox, among other software - and I was not. I finally gave up and deleted it.

    Summary

Great idea - apparently it needs work. Lots of work.

    "Not reliable"

    November 12, 2011  |   By Leppod

    Version: CNET TechTracker 2.0.4

    Pros

When it works as advertised, it's great.

    Cons

It doesn't always work as advertised. Way too many false "updates". Tell to skip an update and next it's there again. I hate the installation step that CNET makes you go through. Sometimes it's better to just download direct from the source. Cannot recommend product to any novice user. One needs to know their own software to recognize when CNET is lying to you (again).

    Summary

One would think after all this time that CNET would be more reliable and accurate. Instead there has been very little improvement over the years. If one is willing to wade through the false information this program repeatedly puts out (I guess I am one) then OK. Otherwise it's more a pain than it's worth.

    "I don't know yet!"

    November 12, 2011  |   By kmcd11

    Version: CNET TechTracker 2.0.4

    Pros

After reading about this. It's sounds trustworthy, highly reccommended!

    Cons

Hi, I wish I could write something inspiring for all to read, But I, for the last 2 1/2 wks have been trying to solve a big issue on my computer. I know I have a virus called 'Win32/Small.CA' that WILL Not let me install anything that will Help me with my Sick PC. So, untill I can remove this virus and other problems that have inffected my System, I feel that once I get TechTracker installed, that it will work protecting my system. I will write another review, with good results.

    Summary

I'll hopefully be back very soon with another point of view.

"Will be great software once the bugs are worked out"

    November 12, 2011  |   By underlord48023

    Version: CNET TechTracker 2.0.4

    Pros

Downloaded and installed easily and quickly.

    Cons

Everyday getting the same notification for the same updates.

    Summary

The software is a great idea for those people that don't know how to update their software manually. But like most new software that comes out their are always bugs to be worked out.

    Pros

There are none if not installed.

Can't get it installed. Cnet doesn't recognize me as a member, unless I try and become a new member, then it knows I am and won't allow it.

    Summary

No good if you can't get it installed.
