    "excellent, useful, 2 issues"

    December 2, 2011  |

    Version: CNET TechTracker 2.0.4

    Pros

Excellent reminder and source for keeping progs/apps up to date
Not a large system resource hog
Can rev. the list to ignore updates that are not wanted in the tracker

    Cons

Gives reminders for updates to newer stuff based on old apps still installed even tho new ver. is installed too....means extra work for TT and me.
Wants to install in its own location, not a choice for user
Almost secretly tries to install other app(s) unless user is very careful...not a feeling of trust.

    Summary

    Use at your own risk

"DON'T PUT STUFF ON MY COMPUTER WITHOUT PERMISSION!!!!!!"

    November 29, 2011  |   By High-Definition

    Version: CNET TechTracker 2.0.4

    Pros

It shows updates/newer versions for utility programs (CCleaner etc.) and just released programs like Photoshop CSwhatever that you can buy.

    Cons

You downloaded a program on my computer called "Sendori" WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! And possibly one called "Consumer Input Software" which just showed up in my Revo Uninstaller menu. I selected to check for updates ONLY when I activate it and for it to not start on boot, yet there it is sitting in my taskbar.

    Summary

I've been using CNET for most of my downloads for several years now. I'm not sure if I can still trust your site like I did so blindly before. The program does what it says plus some devious, behind the scenes stuff that casual users wont be aware of. I'm very disappointed in your unethical tactics. You've built a solid reputation, don't get GREEDY!

"DOESN'T recognize my PC; alert update ALREADY INSTALLED"

    November 28, 2011  |   By cjscott22

    Version: CNET TechTracker 2.0.4

    Pros

    It works sometimes.

    Cons

Half of the time, it alerts me to updates I have already installed. It also doesn't recognize my PC, even when I uninstall and reinstall it. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

    "Cannot see scan results"

    November 27, 2011  |   By jlnum04

    Version: CNET TechTracker 2.0.4

    Pros

    Nothing good to report.

    Cons

11/26/2011. Downloaded with my CNET ID. Installed and ran scan. Couldn't see results. Was directed to CNET which said my PC not recognized. Tried again. Same result. Install does not ask for my CNET info. No way to see scan results.

    Summary

Complete waste of time, effort, disk space. Just plain dumb.

"Handy tool--easy to use and just as easy to put away."

    November 25, 2011  |   By wleben

    Version: CNET TechTracker 2.0.4

    Pros

It saves me the time of looking for important software upgrades. It thinks of things that would never occur to me. And when it's overly vigilant, it's easy to turn off.

    Cons

    No complaints at all.

    Summary

This is one of the programs on my computer that I'm happiest with.

    Version: CNET TechTracker 2.0.4

    Pros

EAsy to use, like what your doing.

    Cons

BUGS!!! I'm so tire of this thing telling me there's updates and then when I checked there's nothing there it's been done.

    Summary

love the idea, really nice, but it has-to work right before it's a five star program.

"TechTracker is a good software updater tool."

    November 15, 2011  |   By pamjparr

    Version: CNET TechTracker 2.0.4

    Pros

I've been using TechTracker for a few weeks and so far it's been quite accurate.

    Cons

TechTracker did alert me twice that an update was available for one software that already had been updated.

    Summary

On the average I'd say that I'm quite pleased with the accuracy of TechTracker.
