"Great Notifier, But..."

It does (to some degree) do what the name says.
Cons
BUT, it also does it repeatedly...I have on more than one occasion updated programs only to be told a couple of hours later those same progs needed the SAME updates again!

It leaves the program files in the download folder, even if the installment was successful.
It deletes the defaults you defined and returns the programs' defaults.
It misses some programs, even some that can be found in CNet (e.g., Advanced Uninstaller PRO).
It is set to automatically update CNET TechTracker. However, I cannot tell if it works or not, as it will not tell me what version I have on my computer.Summary
This is a program I've been looking for for a long time, but I'm afraid we are not there yet.

Cons
This version won't download or update any of my cnet programs though I've getting a ton of notifications to update 22 of my programs.
Summary
Previous versions were excellent! This latest version is useless and as many have pointed out - a total waste of time. I tried and retried (Vista OS) but always got the same download error message. CNET staff were unable to remedy the situation. I've had to uninstall the techtracker and will have to search out each program periodically to see if new versions are available. What a shame.

Can show all you all the non MS updates. But beware some of the updates it shows you may already have and can be very annoying when this happens
Cons
Calls error message when using "Smart Install" and unable queue or download any updates this way, very agitating and annoying.

Unfortunately it is inefficient. Creates duplicates, Doesn't install all downloads requested and suggests updates are available for some programs that are up to date

It allows to turn off most of program autoupdaters that begin their running at System startup and in this way computer's startup is slow. Customized mode and shedule of program's work allows you take no care for searching updates.
Cons
Being reinstalled,it stopped my connection to my CNET Download.com page. When ajusting Windows Firewall I didn't find out TechTracker in list of my programs. So, I can't allow it for Windows Firewall.
Summary
I'll try to install it properly again & again. It's usefull.

I have a MacBook Pro and I have to Force Quit Tech Tracker 2.1.1 in order for it to quit.

I am a big fan of CNET but this program is not that great. It takes you to the web to see your updates, when you press the download button it takes you straight to the programs site, isnt it quicker to just go into the program to update? I am sorry CNET but this program is not good, even if you pay for premium.
