"not very accurate"
Version: CNET TechTracker 1.3.1
Pros
will automatically check for software that you have installed and make them into a easy to read list
Cons
not very accurate, it does not seem to always recognize the newer programs installed. Sometimes other programs that you don't have installed are on the list. Sometimes the same program is on the list more than once but with different name

"Brilliant idea but its not the first time Cnet!"
Version: CNET TechTracker 1.3.1
Pros
The idea is brilliant, the program is neat and it looks beautiful and I dont mind when it starts when windows starts up.
Cons
Just like every other similar program and like the ones the Cnet tried before, sometimes, it gives you false detection of software versions, sometimes it would ask you to update even when you have your programs updated. I hate when that happens.
Summary
It makes my life easier, I support the idea 100% and I wish they wont stop working on it.
-

Cons

Summary
I love CNET, Downloads.com. I'm always using it to look up all kinds of software ..mainly free.. I'm poor..anyways, this software has a lot to offer IF you pay attention to what you're doing. You can alter some of the controls manually..as one of the other reviews states ...to remove it from start up..ext. As with anything "free" take care of where it come's from. CNET basicly is a place for software companies to place advertisments. That's how they stay in business. I undersatnd. I just hope that others take this into concideration when they use this site. With all that said, it is in my opinion that this is another marketing device for their clients.
