    "HELPED ME"

    August 03, 2003

    Version: CIP 5.00 SR7

    Summary

I think this is a good App. It helped me since I am on a Dialup.
    I run 98SE and my browser IE6SP1.
It was easy to use until the "hosts" file that is located in C/Windows is in conflict with my browser. Could not open some sites and my ISP links.

"If you want to do a wild goose chase.."

    January 08, 2003

    Version: CIP 5.00 SR7

    Summary

So what can I say? I spend two days trying to figure out why the GD (which could stand for something else) Transfer function would not enable itself, per the instructions. I see, from all the negative press, that a second program is needed to make CIP function fully. I would have gladly paid some nominal fee to have the whole thing working. Not having the GD Transfer function significantly reduces functionality. I am hopeful the creator will consider making that change, and charging $20 for it. The time I’ll spend manually adding and deleting URL’s from the CIP will far exceed the benefit of how fast it connects me. I’m irritated that the instructions, even with its inserts, doesn’t articulate how to do the ‘/Auto’ instruction in the command line (where ever that is), leads one to believe the GD Transfer should be available for use, and finally and most irritating, is the fact the web site has no contact support, knowledge base, discussion group, or a clarification section where discrepancies like this can be addressed. They call it customer support, which this site www.radsoft.com obviously lacks. I find it interesting that each time someone submits a sobering opining, someone submits a rebuttal with all 5’s. Hmmm. Creator should bundle the GD Transfer with the CIP software and sell if for $20.

    "What's the point?"

    December 26, 2002

    Version: CIP 5.00 SR7

    Summary

The real strength of a DNS cacher is monitoring your internet activity and automatically making the changes to your hosts file. With this useless program, it's all manual. And it'll only cache your favorites. The cherry topping this poop sundae? There isn't even an uninstall program included. Don't waste your time.

    "Not only for dial-ups"

    August 05, 2002

    Version: CIP 5.00 SR7

    Summary

The idea is having a built-in electronic phone-book. You need IPs to access sites, not URLs. Normally you have to go out first and get the IP for the URL. This makes any access use twice as much energy. Using a cache is not Radsoft's idea; making it easy to use this cache is.

What I don't get is 'disapointed' complaining about having a slower dial-in to the ISP. Hello? What does this have to do with the program? Nothing. Sheesh. Some people know nothing and jump to criticize. Whoa. Have a clue before you type - and learn how to spell 'disappointed' too.

Program is supposed to be ideal for dial-ups, but in fact it doesn't matter what connection you have - using the cache will always halve your access times. So if you have fast cable today, CIP will only make it faster!

Great program. No 'BS'. Just download it and run it. When is the last time you could do that?

    Kudos.
