You can have Butler show a selected item in Finder by pressing option-return (or option-enter) or by clicking the little gear wheel on the bottom left corner of the abbreviation screen.

I switched from "Quicksilver" to "Butler" and I can't say which I like more. One thing I miss in Butler is the possibility to reveal an object (just showing it in the Finder, not opening it).
And: Anybody knows a way to insert the current date at the text cursor position with Butler? -

This app looks incredibly useful but it has one problem I have knoticed. I came upon it looking for a menu bar extra that would eject my external FW drive, but when this is attempted in Butler the app hangs and needs a force quit via activity monitor. This is on a TiBook running 10.3.4, and the problem would appear to be a running theme as I have noticed similar feedback on other "ejector" apps. -

Butler is phenomenal. it has become indispensible. the pasteboard feature alone is a huge timesaver, especially if you assign a fourth mouse button to bring it up. ooh la LA! i don't know what i'd do without Butler. Mr. Maurer really deserves some kind of Mac award. -

This program is simply amazing. You may like particular functionalities of competing products better, but the truth is that there is no software that combines as many, well implemented features as Butler in a single, donation-ware application. This is by far the most impressive mac shareware/freeware app I've seen in quite a while! -

The Mac community needs developers like this. The developer of this application must be wealthy because he doesnâ??t require you to pay for this feature rich utility. If you use Butler do the right thing and send him a few dollars. Now, I best go and send the developer some money or I will be a hyp·o·crite. -

I prefer LaunchBar for a launcher, and I have all my macros set in iKey. But Butler is a perfect replacement for PTH Pasteboard. I was one of the unfortunate ones to pay for YouControl in the beginning ($40 then/$70 now) thinking it would at least replace the PTH apps. It doesn't. Save your money and download Butler. If you use it and really like it, send the author a few bucks via PayPal.
