This CD and DVD burner works as advertised, but the bundled toolbar it installs reduces its appeal. Burn4Free CD & DVD lets you burn audio discs or write data to CDs and DVDs by dropping audio or data files into the main window.
The button-heavy main window has a somewhat awkward look, but it's easy enough to understand. If you find yourself overwhelmed by the multitude of controls, you can switch to the more streamlined Easy mode. Be aware that the app attempts to install the NavExcel toolbar, which changes the way IE behaves when you mistype a URL or enter one of NavExcel's recognized keywords into the address bar.
Budget-minded users may not care, but even they have plenty of other cheap and free options. We'd prefer to burn discs with our jukebox of choice or pay for a more full-featured, less invasive application.

"Very simple and easy to use, great FREE program"

Pros
First, did I say it is FREE. Nothing is better than getting one of the best featured, simple to use burning programs for FREE. It also links to several related programs.
Cons
It took me a while to find anything to complain about. The only thing I could find is that the link to CD art is not functional.
Summary
It is a great FREE program that I would recommend to everyone.

I've used this for years error free. Now with the latest version it won't play in my car. Other programs burn CDs that work fine in my car. What happened to this fine program?

Pros
I particularly liked the 'Fly Window' process which easily converts files suitable for 'Burn4Free' process. Earlier attempts to load movie files consistently failed, before I found the Fly Window process.
Cons
I found that I needed to carefully peruse the instructions to get any success. The system does not allow random experimentation.
Summary
This program will continue to be my first method of choice; It appears to be a particularly intelligent process, and my heartiest congratulations go to those people who designed and programmed it!

I can not get it to work!
Summary
The program downloaded all kinds of extra crap to my computer which will take some time to undo. The program does not work at all! There help site is a joke not at all informative. Let me lay it out for you. The buttons on top: Burn Data, Burn Audio, Erase (I have the disc I want to copy in the drive so I don't need that!), New (nothing happens), Fly Window makes it tiny, Add well I was able to add the files manually but when it burned it, it only copied an empty folder trash that disc! There is a long list of things that it added but none of those showed up on the copy. Now I try to click the Add again and it froze. Let me try again. I used the "select all" button from the Add menu. Again it is showing 651.96 MB the size of a Data CD. Now it writes .31 MB ***?? I've wasted another disc.

I got so tired of the other programs out there for burning music. They're all so hard to work with it was just too frustrating. Once I found it I just stopped looking. It does everything I need with a great toolbar and makes burning a CD easier.

Try Burn4Free anytime you need to burn a CD. The programs that come prepackaged in your OS just can't beat it. It's got great browser extensions and will work with almost any file type.

Pros
I've tried so many programs available out there for burning CDs and they're all so complicated. But Burn4Free's toolbar extension powered by Somoto is flawless. The clear design and display makes working with it ridiculously easy.
