Burn4Free CD and DVD is a burning solution that's compatible with more than 3,000 DVD and CD burners. Burn data and audio from different file types (WAV, WMA, MP3, OGG, FLAC, WavPack, and CDA). Burn and save ISO files, open and save your project to disk, verify content, print compilations, copy DVDs, and import your audio compilation from M3U and ASX playlists. The drives supported include dual-layer DVD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD-RAM (SCSI, IDE, EIDE, and USB 1.0 and 2.0). Version 3.8 improves contextual menu, adds some improvements and optimizations.
Note: This download installs additional Internet Explorer toolbar that can be uninstalled separately at any time from within the browser.

Pros
High quality burning which allows you to set "Beginners mode" when first installing. Very easy to use and depending on your PC ach file takes approximately 3 minutes to burn to a DVD-R. Virus free and uses little space on your PC.
Cons
The only thing that I didn't like was the toolbar that you HAVE to download. No worries though, you can unistall that once you finish the program installation.

It installed an internet explorer toolbar for one! What does burning a CD or DVD have to do with installing a toolbar that tracks where I go? Then you can't copy or quite a few other things with this program, all it does it pop up a box that takes you to an internet site to purchase a different piece of software. This is one of the real STINKERS out there as far as "freeware" goes. In this case you get what you pay for..

Works as advertised, but there is still room to improve the user interface. Still a bit clunky...
Cons
Source balance for recording from different original files not intuitive. Log is nice feature, but of little relevance to typical user.

Pros
I have copied one DVD which took about one hour. It played OK on my DVD palyer. The Plato DVD copy to DVD via Burn4Fee software was the only 'FREE' software that I got to work for DVD to DVD copy & I tried a bunch - like 8 others.
Cons
I think it should be able to do the copy in half the time but 'FREE' is good.

Cons
Burn4Free Toolbar is the sting in the tail in this free product. It installs a toolbar to your browser (no option not to install) AND tracks your net surfing using cookies (it admits it in the agreement). There are other free options out there (CDBurner XP Pro, IMGBurn are two examples).

Functionally it seems to be a pretty nifty program, but as it is basically spyware, it does not belong on this site.
Cons
Undesirable, since it merely legitimizes spyware on my machine.
