This CD and DVD burner works as advertised, but the bundled toolbar it installs reduces its appeal. Burn4Free CD & DVD lets you burn audio discs or write data to CDs and DVDs by dropping audio or data files into the main window.
The button-heavy main window has a somewhat awkward look, but it's easy enough to understand. If you find yourself overwhelmed by the multitude of controls, you can switch to the more streamlined Easy mode. Be aware that the app attempts to install the NavExcel toolbar, which changes the way IE behaves when you mistype a URL or enter one of NavExcel's recognized keywords into the address bar.
Budget-minded users may not care, but even they have plenty of other cheap and free options. We'd prefer to burn discs with our jukebox of choice or pay for a more full-featured, less invasive application.

Burn and save ISO files, open and save your project to disk, verify content, print compilations, copy DVD, copy BLU RAY and import your audio compilation from M3U and ASX playlists. The drives supported include dual-layer DVD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD-RAM (SCSI, IDE, EIDE, and USB 1.0 and 2.0).

"It installs that toolbar no matter what."
Pros: None really. It destroyed my DVD.
Cons: It hung while burning my DVD. Also, while I opted out everywhere, it still installed the NavExcel toolbar. This is totally not ok.
Summary: In my book installing something when you don't want it to is pretty much equivalent to a virus. Especially if the whole thing doesn't even help you get your problem solved - it just makes more.

Pros: I use this for downloading ISO files to transfer to dvd
Cons: It could be a little easier to work with I had some problems at first tring to get it to work
Summary: I got the software for doinG ISO files works a lot better than some of the other free software. I like how good it runs

"A quick trial was unsatisfactory"
Pros: Did not find any
Cons: Could not get the program to copy properly. Did not recognize the blank CD or the Original CD.
Summary: In all fairness, I did not spend sufficient time to try to get myself and the program up to speed.
