Version: Burn4Free CD & DVD 1.1.4
Pros: As far as I remember, the old version of this program was quite awesome. There was no spyware. Some people here said they have spyware from it, but Im not sure if thats true. Personally I'm still using the old version, and I burned over 30 CDs without even having one that got corrupted. Also the features----- well it does have decent features, if one thinks about it - hey its free, and works too! Give it a try....
Cons: Well, if its true, as some users said, that this program has spyware, then shame on Burn4Free!!! I know it probably costs money for people to make a program, but the best way to gain back money is not by adding spyware!!! The Donate button is a good idea. If there is no spyware, people would donate when they download this new version.
So, my point is that if there is spyware, then this program would be a rip-off. But since I havent tried it, I encourage people to try it. As for me -- I tried the older version, which I still find pretty decent, and Im defenely not disapointed with it...
So overall, give it a try folks, and if it doesn't work for you, then uninstall it. Remember its a free utility, so whatever functions it has, you didnt pay for it, so dont say "NERO is more advanced".... Of course NERO is, but it cost $$$. I think that this program is way better than your standart Windows built-in functions. The interface also seems to look like the old version, and if it is like in the old version, then it is surely EASY-TO-USE...
PS: Works with my old LG drive too, so Im quite glad :D .

Version: Burn4Free CD & DVD 1.1.4
"Spyware infested. annoying popups every minute. Junk."
Pros: It did successfully burn a couple DVDs but only after a long time spent figuring out the program.
Cons: It installed like seven different .dll files in system32 that seem suspicious (random letters and numbers followed by ".dll" afew have the exact same size. They were created at the time of installation and not removed when I uninstalled the program.)
Summary: The names of 3 of the suspicious files were: "ljJCSMDs.dll" "pmnoOFXp.dll" and "wvuVNheb.dll". There was nothing found when I google searched them (or any of the others).
Situation:
28 computers. All Identical. 2 had this installe... read more >> -
