Burn for Mac User Reviews
-
"Works well for what I wanted"
Version: Burn 2.5.1
Pros
Needed something that allowed me to rearrange some tracks for a CD. Worked exactly as I needed.
I was in need of a program that allowed me to easily copy CDs for a computer illiterate friend - I think I found it.Cons
None noticed. Have not tried DVD capabilities.
Summary
Simple UI. Rearranging of tracks very doable and easy (drag and drop). Simple and easy to use. And free. Perfect for my needs.
-
"decent burning, worst track-arranging interface ever."
Version: Burn 2.5.1
Pros
does ok at the actual cd burning part
Cons
As someone else mentioned, Burn has zero flexibility on the track arranging screen. you can't rearrange tracks you have dragged into the project, and even though there is a function to remove tracks from the list, it doesn't work. so you actually have to close the program and open it again if you want to remove something from the list or start a new list. For such a simple thing, this drawback is completely stupid and amateurish!
Summary
I downloaded the program about a half hour ago and found this simple shortcoming so stupid, I decided to take the time to write this review. This program is probably perfect for copying a cd, where the track list is already set.

"Very Shoddy"
Version: Burn 2.5.1
Pros
Accessible user-friendly UI
Supports a decent range of file types(this could be a con as well)
LightweightCons
Many frustrating errors, it crashes a bit too often for my liking, and it seems to be missing some absolutely critical features to making a decent burning app.
-Can't re-order tracks
-Can't remove a track once you've added it (ya, that means if you accidentally add a wrong track to the cd you're burning, you gotta start all over)
-Can't re-name tracks
-Many advanced features for burning video are missing-Aspect ratio options, subtitle tracks(srt.), hardcoding subs, etcSummary
overall, pretty disappointing after reading so many 5 star reviews. This is a bush-league app, and if its open source, they need to get some more developers to do it right.
I must say however, its better than iTunes, which I despise -
"Lacking file type support hurts it."
Version: Burn 2.5.1
Pros
Nice user interface, very simple.
Nice small file size.Cons
Insufficient file type support.
Not enough advanced menu options to modify aspect ratio.Summary
Good program with an easy user interface, but its insufficient input file types hurts its usability.
-
"Didn't fit my needs."
Version: Burn 2.5.1

Cons
I couldn't copy a CD easily, so I uninstalled.
-

Cons
None that I have found.
Summary
Excellent free software. I started using this program because iTunes is no longer user-friendly. You'll love it too!

"Works Good"
Version: Burn 2.5.1
Pros

Cons
( FOR ME) Doesn't work on a PS3 but I still need to test if it will work on my DVD player.
Summary
Its a great app for mac users like me!!
-

Cons
Have not found any yet.
