A puzzle game primarily designed to test attention and thinking skills, Bumper Deluxe falls short on most counts. Since the program must download additional files from the Web, the installation takes longer than you would expect from the initial download. Bumper Deluxe also launches sluggishly due to its basic but strangely complicated interface. The game's goal, keeping the grid from being overfilled with color ovals, is not clear in the beginning but becomes apparent fairly quickly. Though the graphics are no masterpiece, we thought they were adequate. However, several serious play restrictions are what really drag this game down. Not only is the trial session only 60 minutes long, but you can only play a windowed version. We also were disappointed that you can't change any aspect of the game besides its difficulty level. Because of these constraints, most gamers will find that Bumper Deluxe gets boring too soon and isn't worth the time.

The objective of Bumper Deluxe is to keep the game grid from being completely filled with color ovals, while accumulating the highest number of points by creating the most lines possible of same-colored ovals. It features four modes of play, including Bumper, the standard mode, and Real Time, a faster-paced version similar to Bumper, with the difference being that a bumper car is replaced the moment it leaves the bottom row. Play against the clock to make the required number of lines, which is based on the difficulty level the player chooses. If you complete the number of required lines in the allotted time, your time will be recorded and you will be eligible for the Challenge Bonus. The faster you complete the required lines, the larger the bonus.
