  "Seems to provide benefits"

  Pros

  Damn if the sounds don't seem to help.
  And the Lite version is free.

  Cons

  I'm suspicious of claims that phones/devices that can only produce frequencies down to about 100Hz at best can simulate or stimulate beta waves in the 3-15 Hz range.

  Summary

  Can't figure if it's really brainwave science or just the power of suggestion and the trance-y effect of repeating audio tones.
  Guess it really doesn't matter which if it provides some benefits.
  Still, the possible snakeoil aspects bug me, since only the highest of hi-end audio systems with large speakers (not earbuds) generate anything useful in brainwaves' super-low frequency range.
  
  Brainwave Tuner Lite version has repeating sound waves and tones that supposedly tune your brain for 6 activities like sleep induction, headache therapy... Other interesting-sounding tones ("creativity enhancing") come with $4 paid version of 16 wave presets. Developer has a bunch of other health/utility apps - linked in the software - that will pique curiosity as well.
